Re: River's McVay/Phillips mock 2.0 ... with trade
Both Joe Thomas and Hayes are still playing at a high level, and 32 isn't over the hill for a lot of offensive linemen. I'd much prefer acquiring him through a trade than trying to sign him as a free agent, and he still has two years remaining on his contract. Thomas doesn't have the injury history ...

Re: Rams have virtually no unused cap dollars for flexibility
River.. I really like your last cuts, btw. Hayes can work in the 3-4, I think.. I think Westbrooks may be able to as well. Center needs an upgrade.. so.... draft one? And look for a scrap heap guy to back up, just in case? My last mock has us going after Free Agent JC Tretter at Center, and my 'scr...

Re: Question regarding cap and FA WRs
He hasn't said he's not changing. He's said the change isn't as big of a deal as some would make it. Well, will just have to wait and see what he brings out on game day. Even the Denver team he took over moved to a 3/4, that's just what he does. It's nothing to get excited about, it won't be a pure...

Re: Rams have virtually no unused cap dollars for flexibility
Do we have any players who are candidates for cuts like Long/JL/Cook were last year? Saved us 25 million last time around. Once Sims, Barnes, Rhaney & Mason are off the books, the Rams will have closer to $50.mil in available CAP. Near 1/4 of that will go to Tru Johnson if we re-sign him, so I woul...

Re: River's McVay/Phillips mock 2.0 ... with trade
Wanted to avoid it becoming 'too much' with the OP, but the Cleveland trade could easily be enhanced with their desire to transition from a 3/4 base D to a 4/3 base now that Greg Williams has taken over as DC. Consider the Rams have multiple defensive players that are unlikely to fit with the new Ph...

Re: Question regarding cap and FA WRs
The only Rams free agents I care about re-signing are Easley, Zuerlein & Benny Cunningham, the rest can be replaced at less cost. Easley may just become the Rams starting LDE under Phillips' new 3/4 base D. Want to see how it's done, go to the Draft Forum. jmo. Pretty extensive stuff you've put up....

Re: Question regarding cap and FA WRs
Also, the Rams have a few players that they might want to resign. Here's a list and what their current APY is: Trumaine Johnson $13,952,000 (hard to replace) Kenny Britt $4,575,000 (hard to replace) TJ McDonald $731,570 (Productive player) Dominique Easley $600,000 (Good, young player) Assuming tha...

River's McVay/Phillips mock 2.0 ... with trade
2.0 marks my first trade in a mock this off-season. While I generally believe adding trades to mocks makes what is already a low percentage crap-shoot tougher to take in, and this may be no exception, I add this as other posters have been including trades. As mentioned in a previous post, our possib...

Re: Report: Rams to let "Fisher guys" Tru Johnson and Britt walk
Who is Charles Robinson and why should I believe him? Also, why would Trumaine Johnson be considered a Jeff Fisher guy? Hayes, Britt - yes, but if Tru is a Fisher guy wouldn't AD, Gurley, Goff and any other player drafted since 2012 also be included. Remember Les Snead is still the GM. How about be...

Re: River's very early 2017 mock ...
My 3'rd round draft choice is based on a compensatory pick, as our normal 3'rd rd. pick was bundled as part of the trade to Tennessee for Goff. Should we get a 3'rd rd. compensatory pick, the Titans would get the compensation pick and we'd keep our regular 3'rd, if we don't get the comp pick, then t...

River's very early 2017 mock ...
Big changes coming for our rudderless Rams, so the new HC is likely to design our forward direction with his own philosophy affecting the team from top to bottom. School is out on whether more front office organizational moves are made during this shake-up. Either way we can expect some player turno...

Re: River's Day 7 of Free Agency Mock ...
Jalen Mills would be our FS, Craven is my hybrid OLB/SS Barron clone. Probably too high in the draft for a back-up or rotational player, but he's from USC, and Fisher likes those guys. He would give us solid depth behind Barron, maybe even Ayers in some sub packages. You maybe right about getting th...

River's Day 7 of Free Agency Mock ...
We may have now reached a point where drafting a QB looks less likely, trading up would be too costly, none of them would start until the end of the season at best, … and then there is that whole salary raise to Foles that may require some justification. Our team has far too many gaps in depth to go...

Re: River's post SuperBowl mock ...
Well, … we're off to a good start, 3 of 4 have now been cut and there has been some trade speculation about the 4'th. It's still early and i'm hoping much of the rest might fall into place as the off-season plays out. The Combine is coming soon and several players are likely to move up and down the ...

Re: If Paxton Lynch is available do you take him?
If Lynch is all that's available of the top 3 QB's at 15, i'd probably look to trade back a few picks and then go after him. Just stay ahead of Houston's pick. jmo.

I appreciate the reply lg, thanks. I'll answer your 4 problem areas as best I can here : a) True enough that Wentz or any of the top 3 QB's this season may not last until pick 15, although there are pundits like Rob Rang and others predicting that at least one will drop to the Rams. I believe Rang h...

Re: Poll: Is there a 1st round pick worthy QB in this draft?
I picked 'other' because while I believe it would be great to find our next 'franchise' type QB, I don't want to spend our future trading up for what I see as several developmental types that probably don't help the team win right away. If any of the top 3 (Goff, Wentz or Lynch) fall to our # 15 pic...

Re: Ingelwood and LA Colesium
No offense, but if you're built like a twig, then take a taxi door to door, but if you're built like Greg Robinson, then I wouldn't worry about anything, LoL I don't think size makes much of a difference against a gun. If Greg Robinson was in Stedman Bailey's car, do you believe it would have made ...
