Re: our defense sucked last season

Agree. Run defense needs to improve we can all agree. But partial examining of stats tells partial stories. How many points (avg) does a defense give up per game? (esp. point differential with the offense). Turnovers/turnover margin? And yes, in-game adjustments for our defense (did we look better ...

Re: our defense sucked last season

From what I recall, the Rams defense was pretty bad in the 1st half of games, but really played will in the 2nd half - which I found encouraging. But yeah, their defense was a bit disappointing - but not unexpected, considering they went from a 4-3 to a 3-4. I thought the same thing....Wade did a t...

The Rams were certainly Rams tough under Chuck Knox. Loved that whole vibe, and seeing him representing that with his appearance on the sideline. Great times to be a Rams fan. RIP coach.

Re: The Coliseum should have outside turf instead of grass

Most recently, I was down on the field (Oregon) for about 30 minutes after the Nebraska game last season (kids wanted to throw the ball around as usual). It was packed with fans and pretty hot that day (I was sun-burned as hell!), but I don't recall it being unusually hot on the field itself. Love t...

Re: We should have played to win in that last game against the Niners

Guys can be pretty busted up by season's end - it's not like rest from being tired. It's rest from big bodies slamming into you all year that also get paid millions. Staying healthy/fresh is key. How much did losing Brockers in the Falcon game hurt our defense? Just takes one play. It's why preseaso...

Re: Dynasty's Always Seek To Add Pro Bowl Caliber Talent

Dynasty's seem to know what the hell they are doing :D

From players (I agree that can sometimes involve some luck regarding who aligns in the draft), to coaching putting players in position to succeed, to ownership.

Current Rams seem to have it all clicking so far.

Re: We should have played to win in that last game against the Niners

When a team rests some players (Rams vs. Eagles in '99), it's resting the players most in need of it (health) and/or least desired via potential injury. If they could rest the whole team (like a real bye week), I'm sure they would - but the NFL requires you run some players out onto the field for a ...

Re: Wildflecken's Mock Draft 1.0

I could go BPA at running back at 87. If the Rams board has a back tumbling all the way to them from what they thought was a solid 2nd round selection/solid NFL starter... I mean what stalls this team more - losing Gurley for the season and having little as a back-up, or waiting for LB/edge or O-lin...

Re: Don't Drink the Kool-aide!

It's a tough schedule = they're all tough (some tougher, sure). But saying don't drink the kool-aide is like saying don't be a fan. Gotta stay healthy. Continue to grow. Blend all the new players...the sky's the limit for this team. Making the 2017 playoffs was extremely LEGIT! So was the extreme tu...

Goff has been an ironman health-wise throughout college and the Pro's as well (so far at least = fingers always crossed for our players). Can't wait to seem him as the automatic full extension of McVay on the field.

Re: LOS ANGELES SHOULD BE A UDFA MAGNET THIS SEASON DRAWING THE TOP QUALITY FREE AGENTS & MORE THAN OUR SHARE!

So what does UDFA history show? The crap teams attract more UDFA's? (I have no idea - but the St. Louis Rams never seemed to :D ). Or are the players just looking at holes teams have to address foremost? AND if there is a chance at a position of need (i.e. inside lb, edge, O-linemen, R-back, back-up...

Re: We should have played to win in that last game against the Niners

As most have said, there isn't an absolute way to prove either way (rest vs. play). For me personally, I think saying the team "got out of rhythm" by resting key starters is a cheap excuse. It's a long season, and an extra week to let the body repair after the year-long physical head and body trauma...

Re: We should have played to win in that last game against the Niners

Team was out of sync. The entire team was out of sync. Even Goff and Gurley. I think the time off affected the rythym more than someone being nervous. Maybe some people won't agree but there no way either side can prove it . Agree that it's hard to prove. I mean bye-week playoff teams are also usua...

Re: Who Is the Face of the Rams?

Gurley is the face of the franchise in LA. It's hard to pick just one, as McVey has everyone buying into the TEAM-first vibe I think. But for me, I would picture Gurley foremost as well, based on his on and off the field activity. He's a multi-talented warrior on the field, and a great representati...

Re: 2018 RAMS D vs GSOT

GSOT. They proved to arguably be the greatest/one of the greatest offenses football has seen in the NFL. Our 2018 defense hasn't proven anything yet (other than what we saw last year from those that were here, and project from there). Sure it looks potentially super stout on paper, but I'll go with ...

Re: Love Donald but he is simply not worth the money

There can be a point obviously that Donald (or any player) will simply request too much money. Hard to say exactly what that figure is tho… I mean yeah, he's a 1st ballot HOF'er at this point. Certainly one of, if not the best defensive player in the NFL. Team leader, iron man health-wise…fan favori...

Re: Did Fisher Purposely Sabotage his own Career?

No fix certainly (i.e. losing on purpose). Fisher & Co. were just out coached on the field and off it. Talent acquisition, player development, hiring of coaching staffs, strategy etc., Fisher was inferior vs. the League. I certainly don't think he was smart enough to pull off such a realistic shit s...

Re: Round 4 Royce Freeman; Round 6 Austin Corbett; Dante Pettis Round 3

Hmmm, I admit I’ve seen a few articles regarding Royce Freeman and a knee injury (?), but to my recollection those reports are false. 2016 we suspected a nagging groin injury perhaps (foremost) - Oregon (policy) didn’t report on injuries back then, but regardless, Royce was left looking relative slu...

Re: Cooks not worth it--this guy makes a good case

If they don't re-sign Cooks... I think it's a bad trade. If they do? I think it's more than good. Look at the players picked in the 23 spot over the last decade plus and you'll see that it's a crapshoot. That being said... I think the Rams would draft a good player at 23.. but would it be a player ...

Re: Cooks not worth it--this guy makes a good case

Agree with y'all - this guy is a moron. The Rams went from the worst offense in the League (not much argument there) to immediately the best scoring offense under McVey. What, the Rams were supposed to add high level starters AND depth in that first year? Speaking of depth, what teams in the NFL hav...

Yep, gotta be very careful/selective regarding free agency. That's where a player is looking for max payment and the entire League can offer. Suh...Whitworth, Sullivan = awesome. Has McVey's Rams overpaid for anyone yet? Even Sammy helped develop a League-leading O with young Mr. Goff at QB.

Dline and Corners so good- doesn't really matter- pressure up the middle and premier cover corners- deadly combo Yep. I mean I know you'll agree that we don't want to be inferior in the second level. It's what might separate us from great D to historic D (SEA, PITT etc.). Having a group of quick at...

Re: Rams intend to extend Cooks before '18 season starts

Snead is looking brilliant no doubt. I'm not sure how much of McVey's apparent coaching "genius" is factoring in (lots), but the moves have all looked very impressive. If Donald does walk away, or Suh, Peters and/or Talib blows up a bit…even a key injury or two can devastate a team (last year Packer...
