Re: Rams are 4th-most valuable franchise in the NFL

Hey RS, thx for all the links btw!

What would they be worth if they were still in St. Louis I wonder?

Re: Jared Goff fine with 'system QB' tag if Rams win: 'Call me whatever you want'

That's fuckin' stupid = hey guys, every QB that played for a great coach was a "system QB" ;) Goff play fakes flawlessly, keeps his eyes downfield (the entire field), and stares down any pass rush to make a play . Minimizing any QB's successful results is ridiculous. ..and he's like only 23 years ol...

Re: Goff Needs to Protect Ball Better

He just holds the ball to damn long. Sling it out or dump it off don't wait so long for the 60 yard bomber. Big chunk plays have come on plays he held the ball a little longer. Two big PI’s vs Raiders and a 65 yard gain vs AZ. I understand wanting him to protect the ball and not take unnecessary hi...

Re: Quote From Sean McVay Is The Key to a Championship Run

Everything McVay says and does (which is certainly impressive), is being backed up with wins. He got this team into the playoffs last year (huge turnaround), now it's time for the next step. Who wouldn't buy in?

Re: Take a minute

Hard to describe how awesome this is, esp. coming off that last nightmarish decade in St. Louis.

First a return to LA, then a return to greatness. Just waiting for a return to a Super Bowl win which obviously isn't far-fetched.

Re: Goff Needs to Protect Ball Better

But we want turnovers from Philip Rivers, right ;) But yes I agree, to a certain degree. Turnovers are killers no doubt. Part of Goff's success has always been his focus downfield tho, unafraid of the pass rush around him. He's tough and fearless as described by coaches and teammates since and inclu...

Re: 2018 Baldy's Vids of Our RAMs

I see the run and pass setting-up each other pretty equally. McVay finds initial success somewhere, and he builds off of it as well as anybody (as opposed to riding a horse until it's stopped - of course he has a lot of different horses to choose from at once). 2nd half of the Raider game I think hi...

Re: Love is Blind: What do they see in Mannion?

Love is blind could easily = Perez as well. I mean, you've seen him do what at the NFL level? I believe I asked you before to compare Perez to Colt Brennan for instance, who I see similarities with (I liked Brennan more at this point). Whatever again, no way I don't trust McVay here - why wouldn't we?

Re: Love is Blind: What do they see in Mannion?

What do they see in Mannion? A better QB than Perez and Allen. Do they think Mannion is any good? Who knows, but merely better than Perez and Allen is all we know. I haven't seen anything to dispute that. Sure, it's possible the offensive wheels largely come off if Goff goes down. Perez and Allen t...

Re: Dark Cloud Rushing Attack (2.7 average)

Cardinals set their defense to stop the run. Rams made them pay through the air. Most teams will employ the same strategy because Gurley is so effective when he gets the running game going but very few teams have a defensive backfield that can hold up in coverage against the Rams receivers. It’s pi...

Re: Random Thoughts Rams Week Two Victory

Yep and yep (OP and response). Rams O & D will continue to get better (new players to the team and young players as well, including QB). Good Lord, I'm not sure how McVay could get any better tho… M. Brown continues to impress as a solid every down back (run, block, catch). Ever impressed with Brown...

Re: Jo Jo Natson is an upgrade over Pharoh Cooper

Cooper is good too, but Jo Jo is a must roster keeper as he runs forward, and does not dance, backwards and sideways, like Tavon Austin did. Tavon seemed much more effective in the beginning - Fisher ruins another :D (kidding...sort of). Natson was awesome in preseason…but that's preseason of cours...

Re: RAMS WILL GO AS FAR AS GOFF WILL TAKE THEM

I think playing in a phone booth down at the goal line is where play calling matters least (still matters obviously). It's best to have the physical edge down there as the short field/end zone presents its restrictions for a wide-open offense such as the Rams. Gurley is certainly physical of course,...

Re: Aaron Donald unhappy with Week 1 performance

Carr did not have time to throw most of the night. Edit to add... it’s clearly a tale of 2 halves . It was, but I can still understand Donald wanting to make a bigger impact on the Monday Night stage, esp. after the well-publicized signing (hell he always wants to make a big impact of course). He r...

Re: Donald Was Rusty and It Showed

Explosion plays usually don't happen in a vacuum, they're set-up thru play calls and execution. Case in point. McVay setting up the 2nd half via early fly sweeps and lots of consecutive play action passing. I thought that more than anything is what set up Gurley eventually getting so may running pla...

Idk. He looked great, but Brown looked good too last season I thought. I'd trust our coaches here either way (they're a big reason anybody and everybody is looking as good as they are as well). Regardless, O-line depth is a huge importance (I'm encouraged).

Re: Donald Was Rusty and It Showed

I agree that Donald didn't look as dominant as we've seen in the past, but he did have his moments. It's absolutely insane that officials don't throw more holding flags on the opposing offensive lineman because Donald was mugged all night. I expect the D-line to keep improving as the season rolls. ...

Great stuff, but I got a game ball definitely going to Talib. Shut down Cooper big time and then worked some magic on Cook in the second half. Great choice as a team captain obviously.

Re: Rams and Sean McVay's preseason code of silence unveils new wrinkles in Week 1

Yep all true - talk about a preseason of vanilla offense. I felt bad for the offensive back-ups playing in those games (esp. the QB's), but it was obvious what was happening.
