Re: Wildflecken's Random Thoughts On Rams Offseason Prior To Draft

The Rams will need to field a much stouter defense during the 2019 season than they did in 2018 for any shot at repeating as NFC Conference Champions. Go Rams! I anxiously anticipated a dominant and overwhelming performance by the 2018 D and it didn't happen. I was disappointed and I watched the D ...

Wildflecken's Random Thoughts On Rams Offseason Prior To Draft

1.) This is a very important offseason for the Rams and Les Snead is certainly taking full advantage of the Rams newfound preferred destination amongst the leagues veteran talent. Both Mathews and Weddle may of lost a half step athletically but both are talents whose veteran savvy should more than c...

Re: Cooks Contract

Ok I am posting this to retract my comments about the Mathews contract. Mathews was signed to a VERY team friendly deal as I first assumed when I heard he signed. Then unreliable sources in the media reported falsely the 16.75 million deal. Turns out Mathews signed for 9.25 with only 5.5 guaranteed....

Re: First pick in the draft

McVay has indicated he wants an explosive offensive player with the first round pick. Seems receiver or running back is what he means. If you read between the lines it could mean the Rams are interested in a running back capable of creating explosive plays since the team is so deep at receiver. I l...

I may be wrong, but I believe filling the need for a DT will be coming by means of the draft versus FA.

Re: Cooks Contract

Moves occurring like these behind the scenes are a very, very positive sign for the fan base. Translation, the entire organization, from the owner down, is committed to winning a title. Ironically the restructuring was necessary for the only move this offseason I question slightly, the addition of M...

Re: Can Goff Develop Into the GOAT?

1.) Thanks to all for the replies and I will agree, the term GOAT should not be thrown around loosely or its meaning downgraded. My intended goal of the thread was to start discussion on the steps Goff needed to take to position himself years down the road into that discussion. The league has NEVER ...

Can Goff Develop Into the GOAT?

Love him or hate him, Tom Brady is a field general. The best field general ever. Unsure I have EVER seen a quarterback accomplish for his team what Brady can before the ball is ever snapped. From protection reads, identifying assignments for his blockers, controlling the tempo with snap counts etc.....

Re: Our draft picks..

I keep seeing suggestions that we pick up this or that free agent. We need to start seeing what we have in the players we have drafted over the last few years. John Kelly, Micah Kiser, Justin Davis, Ogbonnia Okoronkwo, John Franklin-Myers... These are a few guys we should focus on developing. With ...

Re: First pick in the draft

McVay has indicated he wants a talent who can make explosive plays and the reason behind this is simple, Todd Gurley's arthritic knee. Think back to last season and how many games we won because Gurley took over the second half. Remove that from the equation and Rams may not even make playoffs last ...

Re: First pick in the draft

1.) Thank you for the draft post. The draft is the lifeblood of an NFL organization and it appears the forum is now a place for political discussion? How long did we have to wait to get back to a playoff contender and now that we have it seems the forum has lost interest in the team, amazing. Amazin...

Weddle An Excellent Start To 2019 Offseason

Les Snead is off to another hot start this offseason. The Rams defensive backfield had major communication issues for much of the regular season in 2018, especially when Talib went down early. The signing of the veteran savvy Weddle gives Wade Phillips a new signal caller in the defensive backfield ...

Re: Suh and Saffold

It's looking more and more like Fowler's the guy they'll keep. Makes sense... 24 years old with a lot of talent. They'll get comp picks for the other guys... although I think there's a good chance they figure something out that keeps Saffold. That has certainly been Snead's history and Fowler situa...

Marcell Dareus

Re: Peter King on Whitworth + Rams Possibly Set Up For More Comp Picks in 2020

Suh - defense gelled when it needed to. Many were rough on Suh during season but converting the games potentially second best 3 tech to a 1 tech takes time, especially when you are tinkering with looks at DE. However from a cap perspective team realistically cannot pay Suh's value on open market, no...

Re: Why Barron might be back

Gotta lean towards Dicks stance here. Barron's issues this season where 100 percent injury related.

Contract, Potential of Barron being 100 percent in 2019, well Rams have inside track here on this knowledge. If he is healthy and $$ work for 2019 well Wade loves him

Re: Wildflecken's Thoughts On SB Loss, Rams Future for 2019 and Beyond

All good points, however it will be hard not only for the Rams to get back to the playoffs, but also to stay on top of the division. Hopefully enough smart moves will be made in the off season. I fully understand your thinking here but Rams are well positioned for a dynasty. The avoiding the pitfal...

Wildflecken's Thoughts On SB Loss, Rams Future for 2019 and Beyond

1.) Rams were oh so close. No reason for McVay or this organization as a whole to hang its head. They were not blown out, they did not embarrass themselves in the game, they simply were beaten by one of the games all time great minds. The largest advantage the Patriots held in that SB was the experi...

Re: Rams Draft Needs; Wildflecken's Take

Eventually, we are going to need to replace Whit, hopefully not this year.... But I would like the RAMs to sign Saffold on a 3yr hometown discount... Sign and bring in Groy for our Center.... Move Noteboom to RG.... Draft an OT with either our 1st or one of our 3rd round picks... or a cover CB with...

Re: Could CJ Anderson Provide Develin Role For Rams in 2019?

No. Let’s get a pure, meaty FB, not try to make someone something he’s not. My thought is I want a guy at FB that can blow people up, bigtime. I want to be able to line up on 3rd & 2 and force teams to play the run AND pass. I have to admit that has a very nice ring to it and exactly what roster ne...

No. Let’s get a pure, meaty FB, not try to make someone something he’s not. Your point is more than fair here. CJ has already proven to be a quality change of pace running back for Rams. However one must consider his career since he left Broncos and fact he was out of league. CJ appears to WANT a l...

Re: so how much would the RAMS have to pay for OG- GROY

Kromer knows him well. We will know what Kromer thinks of his development over last two seasons if Rams make run at him. If they do not, Kromer did not like what he saw.

But I would take a deep look at him. Rams need their Zach Martin, Brandon Scherff type at ROG in the worst of ways
