Finally gone, hope you like Detroit. We get a 6th round pick in 2018. That's more then I thought we'd get.

The writing was on the wall when the team declined his fifth year option. The Rams have whiffed on an awful lot of Offensive Tackles lately. I'm kind of surprised someone was willing to part with a 6th round pick for Robinson. I think we would have traded him for a big mac and a side of fries

I guess that's better than his actual value of a season's worth of Gatorade cups.

when you whiff on the 2nd pick of a draft, you should be fired. One of the main reasons this team sucks. Just think if Rams accepted Buffalo's trade offer of multiple 1's so they could get Watkins. Rams could have ended up with Beckham Jr and Z Martin and an extra 1 + for following year, wowza.

Whoever called his name in the draft room should be gone with him and whomever approved such a wasted pick. It's no wonder... smfh

Such an immense physical talent. Just wasn’t there above the neck!
Good luck to him though and like all the players that come and go at our franchise, appreciate the effort.

It is best to admit you made a mistake and move on than to keep holding on to false hope. Robinson has tons of athletic ability but does not appear to have the head to play at this level. It will be interesting to see how he does in Detroit, I suspect he will be out of the NFL in a few years.

I agree with everything you said, except the effort part. He was skating by on his rookie contract and never put in the real work or had the discipline that it takes to make it in the NFL.

I think the new coaches saw his lack of commitment pretty quick and unloaded him before the start of training camp. Good move. Getting a 6th rounder for this guy is amazing. Wonder how comfortable Stafford is going to feel knowing Robinson is protecting his blind side.

The difference between McVay and Komer compared to Fish and Bou?

Nice move.
$$ open up and you don't waste time or energy on a lost cause.
I wanted to cut him if he couldn't win a starting spot, this is better.
What will they do with $ is question.

I wouldn't expect them to spend anytime soon. I think they'll go to camp and evaluate and then if they need to add a guy they'll wait until cuts.

I could be wrong...but that's the way I see it.

I'm kinda doubtful it will be spent on anything but Donald

If he was showing nothing fine but we gave him away. I was kind of hoping and maybe even assuming that he would be okay with the position move.

If he was showing nothing fine but we gave him away for next to nothing. I was kind of hoping and maybe even assuming that he would be okay this year with the position move and all. Does this leave us with a hole to fill on the line?

I think the Rams were very lucky to get a 6th round pick for him. Detroit just lost their OL Decker so maybe we could have gotten a 5th rounder but I doubt it. I feel sorry for Stattford tell him to watch his 6. :o

And THIS ^^^^^ is exactly why we suck. Don’t get me wrong, i’m a lifelong Rams fan. Don’t try to talk smack and say otherwise, because i’ve been a fan for 40 years. BUT watching this team make this kind of mistakes over and over through the years really helps give one an understanding of why we have been bottom dwellers for so long. I love my Rams, but this organization has been awful at times. I hope with McVay, that we are finally getting on the right track. I just can’t believe that 3 years removed from being a #2 overall pick, that we have given up on him for a 6th rounder. That is an absolute slap in the face. I’m not unhappy that he is gone, but I really thought he was a good pick at the time. I thought his malfunction was Boudreau, but I was wrong on this one, and i’ll gladly eat crow. I just hope his sorry ass doesn’t turn out to be a superstar somehow in Detroit. Wouldn’t that be a bitch......

Rams are VERY fortunate to find a buyer at any cost for Robinson. The moves will free up valuable cap space that would have been lost when he was cut. Greg Robinson was a Fisher / Snead bust from day one like Quick and Pead. Robinson was terrible on the field and was becoming just as bad off. Good luck Detroit. Get used to " Holding number 73" because you will hear that called often. Snead is lucky to have a job right now. He has to own up to making a major mistake on Robinson. I don't think Robinson will make it through training camp with the Lions.

Imagine how much less of a deal people would make of this if Donald had been the #2 pick and GRob selected with the #13.
At #2.. Donald would *still* be a fantastic pick.. missing on a 13 is bad.. just doesn't sting nearly the same when you put it that way.

Perhaps. But it certainly makes Alex Barron look like a steal at #19!

The key here is freeing up the cap space, he obviously did not impress the new staff and now was a great time to cut bait!! I think the kicker was Brown stepping up and GRob obviously didn't take it serious. There could be some lineman available closer to the close of camp, that may be cap casualties and could be had for cheap. I think the staff id feeling good with what they have for now
