The corporate media is putting a microscope on crybabies' claim that the referees screwed the Titans by nullifiying an on sides kick play after Tennessee tied the game 20-20. As we all can't remember, because the TV coverage was still in a timeout, the Titans ran out on the field and recovered an on sides kick before the Rams ( or the refs) could even get on the field. There was a lot of confusion, because the play was ridiculous to begin with The Titans bent the rules about teams kicking the ball off quickly after a score. The Rams were told it was a 60 second timeout, but the Titans decided it was a 30 second timeout and ran out on the field while the refs and the Rams were on the sidelines so they could recover their on side kick without anyone to stop them. It would have been an outrageous outcome had the refs let the play stand, but, as always, there are crybabies who have to complain when the referees don't give them the outcome they cheated to obtain. I hoped the Titans had more class than that, but apparently they don't, and some in the corporate media just support the outrageous BS to get more "hits" on their website. (and yes I see the irony of putting the url here, but it's only for reference purposes.) :)

If the Rams were told it was 60 seconds and Titans told 30.... how is the call a mistake?
Weird.

That being said... do we trust the Refs to make the right call? I'd be pissed if I was a Titans fan. It's a lot like the Rams mixing up paces... using the rules to your advantage.

Okay, okay, okay.... I'll stop being a dick.

There's a thing called the "ready for play whistle" that should make all of this a complete non issue. If the refs weren't on the field...I'm guessing that whistle didn't happen. This is ridiculous.

It doesn't make a difference,,,,

The Titans tried to be sneaky and they still blew it...

there was a flag thrown...

one of the Titans players was off side anyways..

So they actually got lucky for redoing the play over again...

Bones is going to use that play in the SB this year, only difference is that we will follow the rules.

There is only one problem,,

There has to be a play whistle.... to start the kickoff...

There was no play whistle blown to start that play when the Titans tried to be sneaky...

The refs have to put the ball in play ,that means the red hands the ball to kicker then puts his arm up and then another ref does the same thing farther downfield then the main ref pulls his arm down as he blows his whistle then you kick

None of that happened, you can’t just run on the field tee it up and kick without it being put in play

The ref said the ball wasn’t put in play right then

They got no case,it was an infraction

They don't have much of a case, but I think we can all agree it was sloppily handled by the refs.

I was at the game and the refs never marked the ball ready for play before they kicked it. They just ran out on the field put the ball on a tee and kicked it, never seen any bullshit like this before.

That's exactly what I was thinking. If teams could line up and run plays before the referees set the ball and the other team isn't on the field it would be a bullshit exercise and not a sport. :)

Since the league sent a letter to the Titans admitting error then I guess Tennessee is right to "cry" about it.

I actually watched it over in slow motion,,,

I have the feeling, that the Titans coaching staff told one of the REFs on their side of the field on what they were going to do,,, but not all of the REFs knew...

The one REF who set the ball on the ground at the 35yd line was running off the field as the Titans ST was coming on to the field,,,

He did put up his arm up in the air then took it down,,,,, but I didn't see the REFs on the other side confirming ball in play and I heard no whistle....

on the other side of the field the REFs thought it was a 60s Timeout and on the Titans side one REF was counting a 30s timeout....

at the same time,, a Titan was off sides...

Then a flag was thrown out,,,

so it seemed like that REF didn't know what was going on either...

That's what you get for trying to be sneaky,,,

So it's ok for the ref to stand over the ball to stop Goff from hurrying up too fast at the line but these little cheats are allowed to rush the field and pull that shit?? how is that rational?

If they hadn’t returned from commercial yet, then wasn’t the ref telling the Rams it was a 60sec correct? How did anyone think this play was going to stand?

Bush league bullcrap.

And if the league did send them a letter apologizing, then shame on the league.

That is bush league. It also seems to be a stupid, pointless rule to allow this sort of kickoff.

 Let's win some games.
