Chiefs are expected to trade CB Marcus Peters to the Los Angeles Rams, sources tell ESPN. Teams are in final stages of talks and barring an unexpected snag, the trade is expected to be agreed to as early as today.

Trumaine Johnson Moving On?
Ian Rapoport
@RapSheet
Among the teams interested in trading for #Chiefs CB Marcus Peters were the #Browns and #49ers. This also means #Rams CB Trumaine Johnson is moving on.

This is an excellent pickup by the Rams. https://t.co/xamsiJyGhX

Looks like it's going to be multiple draft picks.

Ian Rapoport
@RapSheet
The #Chiefs will receive a package of draft picks from the #Rams in exchange for CB Marcus Peters. They are focusing on the final part of the deal right now. But it’s getting done.

Well if its multiple 4ths 5ths or 6ths, ok. But the Rams are already missing a second rounder this year so this will be interesting.....

Rams getting a cost controlled stud 25 yo CB and freeing up a ton of cap space letting TruJo go.

It's worth a first. You think you're getting someone like that late in the first?

He’s one of the best young corners in the NFL and has 2 seasons left on rookie deal.
Also.. for people saying Quinn should be cut.. no ciance. Chiefs were asking for him & Rams said no. Doesn’t mean he won’t be traded.. just means he’s valued, even with that contract.

Okay, okay, okay.... I'll stop being a dick.

Completely Agree !!! If it costs us this year's 1st it's well worth it - young plug n play pro-bowl corner with amazing balls skills.

This is absolutely amazing. A young superstar db shut down corner 2 time pro bowler in his prime on his current rookie contract. It allows us to get rid of Tru unless he makes a insanely cheaper deal to stay which he won't. Not to mention this frees the Rams up at #23.

I said last month after the playoff loss, Wade needs his chance to build the defense as he sees fit. This was a decent defense last year, wasn't a top tier one. Here we go.

Lock down corner is officially in house. If it cost them their a first, so be it. Who at 23 is going to step in and give you anything close to a Peters' production? I also don't like drafting for need over the BPA. Peters is cheap and the Rams will have a ton of cap room now. I also said I was tired of the Rams paying elite money to non elite players, TruJo was my example. Looks like management saw it the same way.

Rams are going to be very active in FA. I want Joyner back, Barron cut (he's overpaid and they need more size inside), Austin cut, depth on the O-line and a veteran TE. Maybe they keep Quinn, but perhaps he's let go if they find a cheaper alternative. The CB position is fluid, but easier to deal with now that you have your stud in place.

It's a good day, adding elite players never hurts.

Good pick up. When we see the final details, we will know how good of a trade it is. Peters is a upgrade over Tru. Now just resign Joyner snd NRC and keep this secondary strong.

Bottom line Ram's are improving the position with a top 5 CB at 14+ million less then the guy who started there last year. Yes giving up a 1st round pick hurts but that being said this is a no brainier. And the pick was towards the bottom of the first round.

Damn happy. Allows us to do more now with the salary cap.

Might want to take pause, until we actually hear what the compensation was.

It's great to have a brand new Jeep in the driveway, but if you told me $100K was just deleted from my account to get it there, I'd puke.

With a fifth year option, so will have him for at least 2yrs..
with two tags available,, if we don't have anyone else on a tag.

so that would be worth a 1st rounder and possibly those extra 6th rounders we have... or giving up a 3rd rounder that we will get for TruJ...

We should hear more on the deal by the end of the day...

Rumors from KC saying its this years 1st rounder and a conditional 5th rounder in 2019

That's a better deal for us if its true.

That is a great deal to get a play and play pro bowler with a letter first rd pick. That down side? Gonna make this year's draft boring to watch!! (Yea, I'm a draft junkie!)

Straight baller. As long as he can leave his baggage in KC. Or at least a small suitcase

Schefter says no first rounder. Picks in 18 & 19 likely.

Home fucking run.

I knew it. NO WAY are they giving up a 1 when they already traded the second rounder for Sammy.

I hope you are correct. He is an awesome pickup. And he should start maturing soon. We got a steal last year in Watkins, and I think we just got another one. We are surely becoming contenders. Now sign Donald, Watkins, and Joyner long term!!!!

I mean... adding an ELITE corner without giving up a first? And having him at a bargain for first two seasons?????

Yes! (And today’s my bday—what a gift.). Had a feeling about this a few days ago, esp when niners showed interest:

What a move by the Rams. Picking up a better CB than Tru, for a fraction of the cost over the next 2 seasons. Opens up a lot of possibilities going forward. Offseason is off to a tremendous beginning.
Have not read about any off the field issues for Peters. Wade has made a career of putting players in the best position to excel. That may be exactly what Peters wants and needs in this point in his career.
