    McVay vs Shanahan

    by Safety Blitz » 11 Jan 2017, 11:47

Looks like it will come down to these two as Denver is passing on the Shanahans.

McVay with Phillips and a seasoned OC might work.

Rumors are McDaniels and 9ers willeventually get done, a long-term guaranteed deal.

Whatever! Just get it right! So sick of losing Ram football that I can't even get hopeful anymore.

The Shanhans minus Les is appealing to me.

McVay with Phillips and a veteran OC also sounds promising although keeping Les around is worrisome.

It's unlikely the Rams will make their selection until they interview Shanahan.

Not sure Phillips would leave Denver.

    Who ya got?

I really like Shanahan. If we could get his dad to come along as GM and thrown in Wade Phillips as DC we could be a force.

If Wade Phillips has thrown in with McVay it means he will likely get the Rams or 9ers job, because having a DC of Phillips stature backing you eliminates much of the talk about his age. It is that significant.

Rams would be upgraded not only on offense, but also at DC. I would like to see that happen.

There is no better Defensive coordinator than Phillips. I'll take any coach that can bring Phillips with him

Thanks for your views. Love Phillips and not a big fan of the Shanahans.

    Let's get it done!

    McVay and Phillips!

    What's not to like?

    Go Rams!

Its great to see most of us excited and talking about a Head Coach again. The last 5 years of Fisher has been anything but exciting. This would be a great pick up if the Rams can pull it off! Hopefully he brings Fassel back on board too. Go Rams!!

Would have to believe whoever takes the job will retain Tassel. He's basically rock star status as ST coach.

I am not concerned with McVay's age. He sounds like he is a brilliant X's and O's guy. My only concern would be his organizational skills. Can he... does he have the clout to put together a great staff? Phillips would go along way with calming my concerns.

I feel Snead will be saved if they hire McVay and if its Shanahan, he will be gone. IMO
