The game of football is won in the trenches.
It’s an old saying that still holds true and still has meaning to this day. It refers to the big, powerful, dominant linemen on both sides of the field that make or break any football game on any given day for a particular team.In the National Football League, everything starts and finishes on the line of scrimmage. Luckily for the New Orleans Saints, the team might have just landed themselves another way to win more games this season with acquisitions to their offensive line during the offseason.
The Saints weren’t doing too bad in regards to its offensive line, to be honest, before they brought new faces into the organization. But while last year the Saints OL put together a succesful season, the team had needs at guard, and tackle. So they decided to be aggressive during the offseason.
The Saints improved their offensive line this offseason with two significant additions.
The team first acquired free agent guard Larry Warford, and then drafted tackle Ryan Ramczyk in the first round. Granted, the Saints would have been decent this year if the offensive line had to make do with what the team had. But these acquisitions will surely help.
When the Saints offense thrives next year, don’t forget to thank the new men on the field. Larry Warford not only brings “ass and mass” to the New Orleans Saints but is a dominant presence that will surely help New Orleans in multiple ways.
