so what did the Eagles players accomplish?

Answer-- nothing.... Invited to the White House as an honor and they made it into an ugly anti-Trump political thing. They come out looking bad and missed the opportunity of a life time. The players got all caught up in something and their egos couldn't let them undo it.... Going to the White House was not about Trump. It's about respect for the office of the elected President, our country, our institutions, our way of life. Another tradition bites the dust. It seems nothing matters anymore except whether you like Trump or not.

For many - maybe half -- that live in the Philly area, it tarnished the super bowl win a bit.

ERASE the DIGRACE. A good step in the right direction. He deserves no respect and soon he’ll have sullied the office to the degree no one will respect either. This was never about the flag or the anthem but about an orange fool who uses the anthem for his own devisive means....and can’t even remember the chorus let alone the verses. You can sing on the left or bark on the right. Keep smiling ;)

Nah, Just an immature reaction from the players that got out of hand. It was simply an honor and tradition. A once in lifetime event for most that was lost for them. It had nothing to do with Trump or standing for the national anthem ---- until they made it into that. They boxed themselves into a corner that they couldn't get out of. Then they turned around and tried to blame Trump for cancelling it.

They highlighted the continued bigotry emanating from the highest office of the land.

Good for them. And good for Chris Long, who donated his entire salary last season to charity and continues to be one of the best examples of a player worthy of respect and honor in the NFL.

Oh, and the basketball champion isn't going either, and players from the Caps have already indicated they aren't likely to go.

Get used to it as long as a guy that's openly antagonistic to equal rights is in the office. It will go back to normal once he's gone.

Yeah, It's so awful. People just see whatever they want to. Perception is reality.... I am already used to it and I don;t know that it's ever going back to normal. When a Dem liberal wins, I'm afraid he or she will get the same treatment from the other side. This just may be the new normal. You don't have to accept election results anymore. Um.... didn't we just have a post about no more political postings?

edit..

MY BAD!!!

We're allowed to... so, just keep it here. Got it.

More disrespect and damage has been done to the office by the person currently occupying it, the one who actively ducked military service, doesn't know the words to "God Bless America" and doesn't have ANY family members who've served in the military.

Guess what? Among the protestors are people who have family who are/have been recently active duty.

Who are the real patriots?

Bullshit. Reality is reality. It's just the GOP has chosen to reject reality, so here we are.

Reality is the President's son, son in law, and campaign chairmen met with a Kremlin political agent to discuss getting dirt from the Kremlin on his political rival. At this point, that's established fact, even the President's son admits it - after lying that he didn't attend, and then lying about how he didn't talk about the election. Except now he admits it, and the emails have been published that prove it.

Reality is that dirt materialized at the behalf of a Russian cut out - wikileaks started taking Russian money in 2012. They've never published any anti-Russian pieces, they've been caught organizing smear campaigns, they are well known to multiple intelligence agencies, both foreign and domestic, as being a Russian sock puppet. They've even tried to claim that the Panama papers, which detailed how Russian oligarchs siphoned off the wealth of their country and hid it in Panama in hidden accounts, were a hoax.

The reality is that one of Trump's best friends and long time confidants, Roger Stone, bragged that these leaks were coming days before they happened.

The reality is that the Senate and multiple intelligence agencies have confirmed that the Russians did intervene, and that they did so to aid Trump.

The reality is that even Mitch McConnel and Paul Ryan have stated that the FBI acted appropriately in the investigation of Russian interference in the election, and that Trump is lying about a 'witch hunt.'

Once upon a time the GOP would excoriate anyone who would betray their country in this manner. Those days are over.

BTW, I voted GOP for decades. Never again.

You guys can't tell fact from fantasy, because the reality is so damning to you.

There are a lot of conservatives that I can have real conversations with about policy and the direction of the country. We can disagree respectfully and we can both learn something.

Trump people are fucking nuts.

Not until they man up and admit their man is damaging this country, and actively oppose him from doing so.

The overwhelming majority of Republicans refuse to do this, no matter what it costs the country.

The Trump people ARE the GOP - he's got a near record high approval rating from his party, near 90%.

Putin wants to break up this country, just like the Soviets were broken up.

He's gotten an entire political party willing to help him do it - hell, the Koch brothers are realizing how much empowering the ugly racists and xenophobes are going to hurt this country and are now backing democrats.

They and Fox News helped create this mess.

Luckily the average demographic for them is 68 years old, and we won't have to worry about them too much longer.

True on the old part.
Dems gotta be smarter in this time. Those clinging to Hillary really... REALLY need to move on. Try to understand why so many people didn't get off the couch to vote for her and why so many people voted *against* her, in specific.

We'll see.

i'm one of those regarding Hillary. I am a white, middle aged male. Middle of the road independent, lean more conservative fiscally at least. I couldn't stand how she just seemed to feel 'entitled' to be President - because she was a woman and it was her "turn". In simple terms, though, Hillary did not even ask for my vote. Too bad Trump was the result, I didn't vote for hi,m either. But the way you all rant and rave against him has made things worse for the country and pushed him way to the right. Where else can he turn except to Pence? There is a small core of Trump supporters that are 'nuts' as you say but we had that with Obama and Hillary too on the left wing side.

As a country, we have to find common ground. On your side, work with the Trump people that are not nuts and pull him back to the middle. Where he really is deep down. Come on, he is life long NYC Democrat, how far to the right can he really be?.

I appreciate the sentiment.. but blaming others for the idiotic decision to vote for Trump absolves them of their responsibility.

Also.. the notion of “pushing Trump right” is nonsense. He has no political core. He’s completely random and transactional, latching onto decisions/narratives he thinks will benefit him and only him, ultimately. He thinks in zero sum. That’s not analyzing, it’s well documented.

I mean... pardoning Alice Johnson while his DOJ reinstates minimum mandatory sentencing for nonviolent drug offenders? Are You fucking kidding me?

So the lefts position is still that if you don't accept "their" version of "Reality" then you are the one to blame for everything. I learned along time ago that everytime they open their mouth, the opposite is true.

Funny how you guys act like you should be granted the right to speak for all of us, because you are on the right side of history, the vast majority of Americans agree with you yet you are the opposition party.
To hear the left tell it 65m voted for Trump and the other 253m Americans and the rest of the world are on their side.
There are currently 14 European countries that have rejected or are in the process of rejecting the lefts Ideology, Germany and the Netherlands are on track to be next ones on that list.
Even in Canada they have recently voted out the Liberals in 4 provinces including last week by a landslide in Ontario and the vast Toronto conurbation, the biggest area in the country.
I have a cousin who lives there who tells me most Canadians want Trudeau gone and are scared to death of having him negotiate for them on a trade deal or any deal vs Trump because of how overmatched he is.
Yet the Democrats and MSM in the USA are right there pulling for Trudeau. And NK, Hamas, Iran, MS13, BLM, Antifa, illegals and criminals, a recession...... and they call Trump a threat and think they're winning.... Too Funny...
The more you attack, Rage, threaten, name call etc the more support from moderates filters his way and the more it looks like we did the right thing in voting him President.
Please do lets us know when your party has a message to offer.

and oh yeah the Eagles.

They tried to turn it into a political stunt as not 1 black player or other personnel was going to attend. They blabbed about it as loud and as proud as they could before hand. They said a small contingent of 10 people would attend instead of the 90 expected.
The same game played out with the majority black Warriors last year after Steph Currie started it and then we had Lebron and Currie at it again this year before the Finals were even done.
This years Stanley Cup winning Washington Capitals had 1 player say he won't go, I of the 2 black guys on the team.
They all showed up and kept their mouths shut before hand when there was a black guy in the WH and now..... well they think everyone else is the racist and won't go.

So you found 1.
I remember the Bruins Goalie Tim Thomas doing it also, but not every white player in the league at the same time.
So they were both white and citing religious/personal beliefs, didn't try to pollute their teams or leagues with it and were not not demanding the cops stop enforcing laws on a certain demographic of the population only.

No other recent President has reached out to the Black or so called minority Communities like Trump did during his campaign or kept their promise that things would get better for them.
The Black/minority families are doing better than they ever have job wise and they just announced there are 8 M less Americans on food stamps because more and more are getting jobs and have access to more money.
Yet many of the black elite, in lockstep with the liberals and their propagandist MSM, ignore it all in favor of their divisive agenda.
They are looking more and more foolish every day with the trivial nitpicking they try and sell as news and opinions while Trump keeps right on Chuggling and his support grows all over the globe.
Soon the handcuffs will come off the Patriots and Affirmative Action and it's worthless PC cousin will be shoved right back up the unwiped ass they were pulled from.
Once everything is again running on a merit based system putting Americans first, instead of everything failing because most of the employees were hired because of their race, gender, sexual orientation and not their skills, American Values can then begin to be restored.
Not these phoney values that illegal invading criminals and their children come before Americans and their families.

What's crazy is how your article reads like an infowars article. So much crazy talk and anger.

Funny how quickly it went from... "my hands are tied... Congress has to fix this" to signing an EO to change his own policy. Once the reporters got images/sounds/facts about child separation, it was over. He caved.

Gotta agree with you on that dick he caved. I do not support this EO at all.
He should have stuck to his guns and told all the liberal trash to go hide in their safe spaces and scream at the sky and left it the way it was.
American criminals children have never gotten preferential treatment in this country and this is typical of the anti American left.....more crocodile tears by those exposing themselves to the coming purge.

So, you don't think he should have caved? Hmmm. I think you just want the opposite of whatever Trump wants. Maybe he should open the flood gates and then you would all be asking for a border fence.

Seriously though, you know what? I think most Americans agree with Trump on this. It's another losing argument for the left. You'll see. There is no perfect solution and he's the only one with the guts to try to address the problem.

What's crazy is your new 'policy' seems to be open the flood gates, absolutely no borders, no control. Welcome everybody from whatever dis functional country you can find but not anyone with money to invest, education, job skills. Yeah baby - Let's Flood our schools with 10s of millions of 3rd world immigrants without any care about their background, what it is doing to our education system, our healthcare system, etc. Geez man don't you know any public school teachers? ask them what is happening in their schools........ Look, I'm pushing 60. I'll be fine. I'm pretty set. If you succeed in turning America into a 3rd world country, It won't affect me at all. It'll effect you. So, if you ever get your way on this ---you enjoy!
