Yes, no doubt, he played well and hard after he showed up but it was already 2 games into the real season. When did he actually really start playing ft -week 4 or something? But he wasn't there for practice, wasn't there for much of the preseason, etc. How much did that affect the defense as a unit? who knows?

This year I can kind of understand the hold out but was it really necessary last year?

I wouldn't say it was necessary but there are those unwritten and unspoken rules we never know about. IMO the holdout last year was nothing negative. On one hand it allowed some other guys to get more snaps. Game 1 RAMS crushed indy with or without AD.

Although I think the NFL contracts are out of hand I side with AD on this. I don't hate the player, I hate the game.
