Brockers was the first draft selection made by Les Snead and in my humble opinion, deserves to be the face of the franchise. Represents the Rams oh so favorably both on and off the field. A true team player that gives 110% in any role he is asked to perform.

His offseason work a few seasons back with Randy White to incorporate martial arts technique into his game and in particular how he uses his hands to win in the trench was a driving factor in how easily he transitioned to DE last season.

While his transition was a huge success, we saw the impact it had on the run defense, as his absence was felt at DT and in particular his ability to clog up two opposing offensive lineman, making the linebackers jobs a much easier proposition when tasked with defending the run.

With Wade Phillips as the DC, Brockers future with the Rams remains at DE. His absence was sorely felt in the second half of our playoff loss to the Falcons. Fox played admirably the last few minutes of the first half when Michael went down, but at half time the Falcons were able make adjustments for Brockers absence.

Brockers always seems to fly under the radar with the fan base, but his presence is much more important to this defense than fan fare would have one believe.

Brockers remains one of my favorite Rams players and it is my hope he fully recovers from the injury sustained in the playoff loss and is a full go week one. The outlook for this defense significatly changes if Brockers is not at 100 percent in 2018.
