Who would we rather have to help carry the load with TGII? I know money is a factor here as well. There is a question whether M Brown would have had similar success if he had the spotlight like CJ did in TG absence. What do you think?

There is not even a rumor of CJ drawing interest anywhere else.

Maybe the Rams could get him back cheap.

Brown will be back. I think teams will wait till after the draft to offer CJ a contract.

The RAMs made a Tender offer for Brown.... so he will be back,

But I'm also hoping that we can sign CJ too....

Around the 2mil mark....

Have a three headed monster rotating in the back field to save the wear and tear on Gurley's knee....

We have Kelly too, who showed some promise last year pre season. Davis has to be gone I assume.

That’s a hard one....CJ is a mauler... he’s experienced and going to get that one or two yards when needed... and then some. Brown, not so much but still a power runner and is quicker on his feet and younger. Both hold on to the ball also. Let’s keep Brown and CJ and trade Gurley! (Totally joking, don’t kill me)!

I think Brown has really developed as a player and fits well in the Rams running game and passing game. Gurley is going to need to be used wisely so if the cap allows I would like to have both Brown and CJ back. Kelly could be a great change of pace back and special teams contributor.

Brown should be gone.
Detroit would’nt bring him in unless they were going to top the tender and Rams can’t really go higher.

He visited Detroit on Friday and there hasn’t been anything announced yet. It’s possible he got a contract offer and the Rams are looking at it to determine if they are willing to match it. Absent some outrageous offer by Detroit I think the Rams will match the offer and sign Malcom to a 2 or 3 year deal. He has come a long way and given Gurley’s need to have his workload managed that back up position becomes even more critical. Malcom Brown is a much better receiver than CJ Anderson and a very underrated player in this Rams offense. I think they let him test the market to find his price but they will match the offer unless it’s way outside their price cap wise.I know Detroit has cap space to burn but they have Riddick under contract for 4.6 million and Kerron Johnson just recently resigned at 1.5 million a year and Le Garret Blount as a free agent. I don’t think they are going to go much more than Malcom’s current tender at just over 2 million per year. Rams could match and spread the contract over 2-3 years and actually lower his cap hit for 2019

McVay is smart. With Gurley's knee in question he knows he needs a back who can create "explosives".

Cj no question. He is more than capable to fill Gurley's shoes. He's proven it for fucks sake. It's a joke the RAMS haven't already resigned him.

CJ is a one trick pony. Not effective in the passing game. Malcom Brown is a more complete back who’s skill set matches Gurley’s better. CJ Anderson will get paid but it’s gonna be somewhere else. Detroit is looking at Anderson and KC’s Spencer Ware.

I have to agree. It's starting to look like CJ is not coming back due to lack of interest on the Rams part.

Don't know why Justin Davis is not being mentioned. Shiftiest back we have.

LOL McVay never involved CJ in the passing game. That's all on him. McVay throws very little to his backs considering the talent we have in the backfield. You could argue it cost us the Super Bowl. And Malcom Brown has never done anything close to what CJ did for us last year. This love affair for Brown after CJ's stellar play last year has me shaking my head and wondering if you're all a bunch of 49er fans trying to ruin my day.

I like Davis...he had fumbleitis due to the way he carried the rock...but that guy shows explosiveness every time he touches the ball. If McV is looking for explosive plays while TG is on the bench, Davis is next in line IMO.

Thing is....guys like CJ and Brown make positive yards play after play while t times those explosive guys cost you yards....guys like Gurley where they have both the positive yards and explosive plays are hard to find.

I thought MB was just more athletic and had great success the few times he did come in and have touches. Hope we keep him and get Kelly in on the mix too. TG is still our guy, and he will GSD! That being said, I won't be mad if its CJ. the guy did perform last year. I just wonder what MB would have done if he played as many snaps.
