The honeymoon's over. Why not let Gurley carry the ball more? He was averaging 6 yards a carry. No roll-outs called for Goff?? Straight drop backs all game which the O-Line could not handle. None of this makes any sense. And after a bye week. I laughed at all the people who were predicting the W-L record over the last eight games. You have to take one game at a time. We're toast. We're cooked. We're done.

League adjusted to him. Talent base has eroded some. And the feast his history. Sound familiar? It should. Same garbage happened to Mike Martz. Rams can’t block anyone and McMartz thinks he can run 15-20 yard dig routes.

I was very surprised the Rams never ran at the end of the game with 3 timeouts left. Straight drop backs and no creativity.

Lol just a down year as expected. You'll call him a genius next season though.

Once the Lions, Bears and Pats showed the league to mix up looks and not telegraph scheme they started spinning their wheels.

A genius would have adjusted by now. He’s nowhere near a genius.

Bears and a rejuvenated Trubisky comin up!

Good questions! This stuff has come up before. Does McVay need an OC? Is his brain blowing up during games? Too much to juggle? I think he was at his best in ‘17 when LaFleur was his OC. And now look at Green Bay. A major reset is needed so that things improve for next season.

No screens or jet sweeps today either.

Even the announcers would mention the Rams formation. If they are seeing familiar stuff, obviously the defneses are as well. McVay definitely has not adjusted as much as we all hoped. With the poor oline it does make it harder to analyze the Rams offense. Regardless...there should be enough talent to produce. McVay really struggling against strong defense's is becoming a common thing.

Personally I feel McVay lost his confidence losing the Super Bowl.

This makes sense. He just doesn't seem to have the same swagger anymore.

Do you think other defensive coordinators were not mixing it up?

Looks like all his offense assistance that left to other teams were the real genius of this offense...... It’s a shame the new stadium will open with this terrible offensive line

There were a lot more defenses showing their look before Goff’s helmet radio got shut off before than there are now. Now they are waiting.

I'm not saying you are wrong.

But to me, the bigger problem is that McVay is struggling to figure out how to scheme with the combination of a physically-overmatched OL that is forcing him to shrink his playbook -- when is the last time you saw a successful stretch run that is a staple of his offense, or all of the jet sweeps that used to be unstoppable? -- and a star running back who has become a liability. You cannot bank on anything from Gurley from game to game, and that is a huge loss.

McVay is a smart young coach -- only hyperbolic media pronounced him a genius (I freaking hate that term) -- and he will learn from this. But you can't fix an OL on the fly, and the Gurley issue makes play-calling that much more of a challenge. He looked great today, but the load management crap had him on a bike in the fourth quarter when we needed him.

I’m assuming McVay has input with the organization on which players he needs to maximize Goff’s strengths and minimize his weaknesses.

If the o-line is not doing its job the coach and management are not blame-free.

Offense is going backwards, good coaches find ways to adjust and improve and so far I’m not seeing it.
