Definitely a good RB-can we afford him? Would he want to come get a SB ring?

At 4mil plus per year for a part time player who is 31?
Not sure if I would offer that. Kinda sucks for him, the Saints waited until 5 days before the season opened thinking he had no other choice. At least that’s how I see it.

I'd take him for less than 2 mill, but if he was willing to take that he would more likely still be a Saint.

I’d love to have him, but he’s a luxury I am sure we can’t afford. If he stays on the street he may be available I’d Hendo gets hurt.

It's exactly what they did. Total dick move. But this sport short of shrugs their shoulders that way and expects them all to take it.

But god forbid you hold out for 3 days on them in a contract dispute. Then, you are history's greatest monster.

Per the Saints fans
He looked like he slowed since last year, fumbled, missed key pass blocking protections and just looks like he hit a wall. They believe that is why the saints wanted him to take a pay cut or get cut. Again this is just the fans evaluation.
With that said, for a rb to hit a wall at 31 isnt surprising. The saints did demand a pay cut and later cut him. The saints wasn't even able to trade him. So maybe his plays has fallen off.

Not disagreeing but this its why player agents should require sizeable early roster bonus clauses in non-guaranteed years, (about 15% of the year's pay and which fully guarantees some months before the bonus is due), unless they accept a smaller percentage of the non-guaranteed money upfront. As far as i'm concerned the Saints paid for the right to make a decision this late into the NFL year.

Michel is playing for a big payday. He's going to have a big year. No need to add a back at this point.
