One of those things I'm counting on is Vargas with the dual position.
Depending on what moves are made, We get a 3B and no LF, Vargas slides out. Get a LF and no 3B, Vargas plays third. One thing about the Dodgers, at least since the Lasorda days .. they will changes guys positions. Guys like Russell, Garvey, Marshall, Belli, all moved to make room, or fill a need. So guys who are already dual position players have a lot more value, assuming they don't suck at both and can hit.
Forgot that last season they were giving Lux time in CF. At least it gets him off SS

I listen to Dodger talk and one thing I am scared of is the continued talk of moving Lux to SS. The guy can barely make the throw from 2B. Vargas is the key IMO. They are expecting big things from him. I listened to the JT interview yesterday on Dodger talk. He is such a stud, but he wants to play next year. I just do not think the Dodgers should pick up his option because it is going to cost way too much money. I think it is time to let Outman and Vargas to show what they have.

Maybe this is just him opting out for a new deal from the Stro's but dude is 39, so how many years do you make that contract for. He was 18-4 1.75 .829 last season, so he still has some pop, or something.

Winning % with Houston is .763, so he may just go back. OTOH, he may look at recent history and see that Greinke was at his best here, that Scherzer didn't lose a game and was 1.98 .82 pitching for them
after 2.76 .89 with Washington before the trade. Will be interesting. Also, Met's closer Diaz is apparently a free agent as well. Be nice to pick him up while dumping Kimbrel

I am not upset about the Bellinger move. You can't continue to start a guy who can't even hit .200. Yes he is a very good CF but it is like have a pitcher hit in the lineup.
Scherzer would never come back and play for the Dodgers. Plus all the shit he talked about them after leaving no way would they want him back.
