Re: Terrell Owens - Absurd if ya ask me
It is absurd and it doesn't make sense. Sure he's probably in great shape, for a street clothes guy - but if he wasn't good enough to be worth the publicity hassle when he unofficially retired at (checks internet) 2013 after he couldn't stick with the Seattle Seahawks in training camp in 2012, and hadn't caught a pass in the NFL since (checks internet) 2010, then I don't see how father time could have possibly magic'd him into better form in the last 12 years.
As to the videos of him running the 40 alongside Tyreek Hill, where the Cheetah runs a 4.37 and TO runs a ~4.4, I say this. It's relatively easy to run in a straight line. But speaking as an older athlete myself (42 now), it's not the straight line speed that matters all that much, nor that goes first. It's the quick twitch stuff that goes first, the explosiveness, in football terms for WRs that's stuff like getting in and out of cuts to get separation, running a 4.4 for 20 yards and then jumping over a DB to pull in a jump ball. Also, for WRs in the NFL, .3 seconds is a HUGE difference. Just like in the olympics where first and last place can be separated by less than a half second. Look at what happens to WRs in the draft that ran a 4.7 instead of a 4.4. And those are young guys.
Not in my wildest dreams could I imagine the Cowboys wanting to take on such a distraction from their best show at a trip back to the SB in the last 20+ years. It'd be a circus. More than anything I imagine this is the Cowboys doing TO a solid by letting his agent announce they had this "conversation", which was never really a possibility, just so he can get his name in the press.

he seriously is broke. I have seen a couple of pieces on him. another tale of a pro athlete losing all of his money. sadRampager66 wrote: ↑December 30th, 2022, 8:23 pm WTF did he do with the $$ he's already sucked out of the league?

IIRC he was paying over $30k/month in child support to multiple mamas w multiple kids. He made over $80 million in pay and endorsements but spent more time thinking about how he could cause a stir and/or showboat than plan for his financial future.
