Please correct me if I am wrong. By my count, during the season we had five games where we had the lead and then blew that lead.
49ers, saints,Bucs, and twice to the Seahawks.
Prior to this season, McVay had an outstanding record of holding leads. What’s the difference? The difference is Morris. That’s been Morris’s issue his entire coaching career.
For me, even given the injuries that tells me this team had opportunities to finish with a respectable record.
As long as Morris is the DC, this trend will continue.

Re: Blown Leads
Having big Whit at LT I'm sure had a lot to do with the O and holding leads....look at the Eagles and their record with the starting LT
That said....I hate the Morris scheme and want him gone....but....we can't blame global warming on him

I think overall, the defense was pretty good. SITUATIONALLY, however, I think they were pretty bad. That's a coaching thing, not a player thing as we all know.

Re: Blown Leads
The difference is a God-awful offense that managed to score 17 or less eleven times this year. The only game I would say the defense really blew a game we should have won was the first Seattle game. If Kupp doesn't make a bonehead play and go down before getting the 1st against TB, we run out the clock and that's a win. Yesterday was a joke with the penalties, but even so the defense gave the offense the ball at the 10 yard line, and they still only manage a FG. We aren't talking about losing in OT if they punch it in on the first possession of the game.UplandRam wrote: ↑January 9th, 2023, 8:10 am Please correct me if I am wrong. Not to say that the defense wasn't bad in some other games, but it's not like the offense was putting up 30 every week and we were still losing. I don't think Morris is the best DC in the NFL, but he is definitely not the worst. We might end up learning that the hard way if they move on from him. It's always a crapshoot bringing in someone new.

Re: Blown Leads
The defense isn't good situationally at all...when it's 3rd down and 4 and your CB is 10 yards off the receiver and back pedaling at the snap, it's nothing situational about that, to me that's just a dumb a$$ defensive coordinator in Morris to employ that BS for two years now. This man inherited the number 1 defense two years ago and now we are damn near dead last. That isn't a coincidence when you look back at Morris track record. His defense has been bottom 5 everywhere this clown has been.

Re: Blown Leads
Just totally amazing that you have some on this board willing to promote this clown to be OUR Head Coach. Just totally amazing....unclesams wrote: ↑January 9th, 2023, 12:06 pm

Re: Blown Leads
We did blow a few leads. Defense lost a few games. Seattle comes to mind. But the offense was by far the biggest issue. Just terrible. Need to put points on the board. That said, I want a new DC and certainly not Morris as a Ram ANYWHERE. He stinks as a coach. He's a best friend.
