McVay appreciation thread

Post by UplandRam »

Over the last several years, Sean McVay has brought excitement, excellence, energy and new life to our beloved Rams. Last years Super Bowl win was a completion of the task. I hoped he would want more of that.
I can’t could how many exciting moments he has brought to this team.. the thrilling wins.. the players he has brought in.
Personally, I am very grateful.

With that said, I too have criticized some of his moves… honest and fair criticism comes with the territory.
None of us know what is going on in his personal life… his wife could be putting some pressure on… he should think carefully before exits. Money isn’t the end all. Being the leader of a NFL team with players who love and respect him isn’t something that comes around very often. It’s something that is built.

No matter how this unfolds, I think we should be grateful and wish him the very best.
This team is going to have some major changes and maybe he isn’t the guy for those changes. Has he made some bonehead mistakes? Of course, but on the whole, we all should recognize what he has done.
I am very grateful for what he has done over the last several years.

I am grateful for what he has done for this franchise. I hope he stays but if he isn't fully committed I want him gone.

Of course grateful for what he's done.

Might not have it in him to be a coaching lifer like a Belichick, Reid, Tomlin, Carroll or probably Shanahan.

That's okay. The world needs Booth analysts too.....

It's 100% ok to criticize the coach. He deserves a fair amount, same as any other coach who loses games or doesn't get it all perfect. Big picture- guy is a winner and he brought SB bragging rights back to this franchise.

He's probably the best coach the Rams every had. I would hate to see him leave because it would mark the end of a great era. I would have hoped he would stay for 25+ years.

The incredible Rams identity shift in 2017 remains legendary, and that was McVay’s magic. He can do it again, just maybe not right now.

I am also eternally grateful for the identity shift in 2017 and carried thru 2021 that McVay is responsible for.

Cannot disagree one bit . I Like Mcvay a LOT despite his issues . BUT I don't want a coach that is not fully committed long term anymore . when you are contemplating retirement EVERY OFF season , you need to actually retire and let someone HUNGRY and who wants to commit long term , to take your place.

My biggest criticism of McVay is he didn't run the ball enough in big games excluding last year. Thought we could have won the Super Bowl in '17 had we given Gurley more than 13 carries in the Atlanta game.

McVay's greatest strength is establishing a program.

Still much love for Sean.
