Jalen Ramsey still got it

Post by Cornell29 »

Ramsey had some low points but so did the other star corners in the NFL.

Yes, but in my opinion, Morris has misused him terribly.

Does that chart account for drops? Or does Jalen get a "plus" on the play for "passes defended." Asking for a friend.

But seriously, he had a good year, but if some team thinks highly enough of him as PFF does and would give us a 1st for him we should probably do it.

He always gets a high PFF rating, sometimes even after what I would deem a poor performance. It's an odd scoring system.

That said, I felt his play picked up dramatically in the last month of the season. Primarily when he was getting matched up with WR#1s more.

He showed to me that he does still have it.

Maybe if he's willing to match up with the #1 receiver and be "bored" all game, like when we first got him, and the reason we traded for him.

if you are trading JR then you are in a rebuild therefore if you can get a 1st rounder for him absolutely you do it. This is only IF it's a rebuild and I have been very clear that IMO this is a rebuild at this point in time. Too many positions to fill

I think it is only a rebuild if Staff goes away , he said he won't but will his body allow him to continue ? If staff gets healthy + donald + kupp + ramsey and then , no rebuild , the core of elite players will still be there . NO REBUILD .

And then , We try to improve the o line and pass rush and we are right back at it .

Stafford + Kupp + Donald + Ramsey + Wagner + PAYTON!!!! Would equal not only no rebuild but Super Bowl contention immediately. He just has to get his O-Lineman and Running Back TYPES he likes (Kamara?) As the great Cierra pointed out, go read her scouting report on how Payton plays. Honestly, the most thorough and informative thing I've ever read on here. Girl power is real.

No matter what stats are thrown up, I know what I saw this season… and I’m sorry, the guy just isn’t worth $25M a season (which he’s slated to make).

He’s worth $15-16M max.

It’s all about our CAP to me.

Yep. My far bigger problem. Just misuse of an elite talent.

Let's also not kid ourselves. This guy gets zero safety help. Every now and again, even a stud needs an assist or a pick me up.

Good luck getting that from our safeties, who are terrible.

Acquiring Jalen Ramsey to play a soft prevent is so LOL.

At times Ramsey gets worse then 0 safety help. He gets Rapp, who rarely is in the right spot, and spends much of the day covering grass, when playing outside the box. There been quite a few times a miscommunication between JR and Rapp.

When breaking down tbe tape, PFF and others notice that it initially looks like JR was beat. But really, there was a miscommunication with Rapp. Baldy broke down tbe tape and explained this, a few times on film on Twitter.

It's always hard to tell with JR as he'll point the finger when he's beaten so it's difficult to work out who's at fault sometimes. That said, I thought JR had a fantastic last month.

Funny that JR absolutely excelled and looked elite again when used properly. Even Rapp had a very good final month of the season when he was up near the line more often and not being left covering fresh air in the backfield.

Rapp by the LOS worked in the SB too. During that time Eric Weddle wore the green dot and was calling the plays and had the freedom to make adjustments depending on how the O lined up.

Rapp is just bad enough that we won't want him back, and just good enough that some team will sign him for his positives. As far as we're concerned though, he's got to go.

That's a problem with all superstars as they age. There is eventually a point where they are not worth what the annual salary is. Yes this includes Aaron Donald as well.

I love JR's attitude against the opposition. I just don't like it when he goes after his own teammates when he isn't playing any better. It we change our scheme keep him. If we continue to play pussy zone trade him

Every now and then, Ramsey doesn't seem to get along with Rapp, but loved Weddle last year.
