Physical Defense does matter
New DC or not - Rams must embrace a far more physical approach to their D in 2023 - not only does Morris and his “ flag football” approach to D allow opposing O to dominate the ball and ice our own O on the sidelines but it leads to a soft D demeanor & overall approach to the physical aspect of your play. It also is quite evident in the manner our O line plays as it lacks any physicality in its playing style and poor run game production Is it coaching , strength & conditioning or style of players in our program ? I think it has to change going forward

Re: Physical Defense does matter
DeMarco Farr mentioned this this other day. Namely, calling out the defense for lack of physicality.

Re: Physical Defense does matter
Sorry I missed the Farr comments - watching SF play got me thinking about this topic / I hate them but line play for them on both sides of the ball is the key to their success IMO

Re: Physical Defense does matter
Well, it appears our next OC will be Mike LaFleur who was on the niners staff before going over to the Jets. So, maybe on the offensive side, we will get a bit more physical.

Re: Physical Defense does matter
The most DEMORALIZING moment this year:
Us needing 4 plays, at Home against the Niners, to get in from the HALF-YARD Line.
And needing Stafford to dive in and get folded like a pancake to do it.
Emasculating.
Need to find our 70's-80's Rams DNA.

Yep, power running game is part of the solution here along with a improved OL for this offseason. I dont mind this hire if it comes to fruition

Morris inherited the number 1 defense just two seasons ago and the bull$hit prevent defense that idiot plays all game and all season long has turned that number 1 defense into the laughing stock of the NFL....IN JUST TWO SEASONS!!
