Wagner wore the green dot. If he didn't like the call he could have adjusted the defense like Weddle did.

With that said, No one has mentioned or even rumored Morris name as being the reason. Actually the only reports been of how the players love playing for Morris.

How does AD feel about it? Do you mean the guy who wanted his contract re-done so he could once again be the highest paid defensive player? The same guy who helped put the team in cap hell?

Yea, I'm sure he's fine with it. He got his cash.

Just sit back and watch. Several teams are up against the cap, and Wagner will not be the biggest name that will be cut lose. Happens every year.

Yeah, that guy. The same one who closed out both the NFC Championship game and the Super Bowl.

Jesus, Wagner was a tackling machine for us. Jones is no Wagner.

Would love to know what the big "remodel" picture is.

While your point is taken and is completely true, what does that have to do with the fact that making Donald the highest-paid Defensive player indirectly causes the cutting of Wagner and POSSIBLE trading of Ramsey?

I don’t like expensive contracts either, but I think AD is worth it. Robinson, not so much

Of course AD is worth it. You wondered how AD would feel about Wagner cut and Ramsey traded and ny correctly pointed out that AD due to his Contract demands really doesn't GET to feel a way about it.

Can you imagine how the heads would have exploded if we didn't extend Donald and he walked or demanded a trade? AD was worth the $$$, a few others who are making huge bucks aren't.

this is another example of the modern day NFL football player. Most superstars, 99%, could give the team. All they care about is themselves and how much can they get. HELL YES this is partially on AD. Hope you are happy Donald

Granted, AD made those big plays. He was being paid to make those plays. He was under contract and wanted it redone, or retire. My point was that AD is part of the reason for the cap problem. It's not a question of IF he was worth it. The fact is, his salary and the math make it part of the problem. I was replying to the suggestion that AD might be upset that they can't afford all these large contracts. AD knows why they cant.

Wagner is really good and at 10mill he's a bargain, cut Noteboom, Allen,Higbee who are replaceable, not the best rated LBer in the NFL
Rams will plug E. Jones into Wagner spot and save 5.25 million this year. Rams will more likely use that 5.25 to get a edge, safety or OL help
Cornell you are a great poster but this is a dumb move
1. EJ is a drop off from Wagner
2. EJs replacement is likely a drop off from EJ
3. Wagner is good and durable, seems like the first year we didn’t get beat up by the running game. Too bad it wasn’t perfect but Wagner really solidified the position. I was very tired of watching Troy Reeder.

Let’s all call it for it is. Aaron deserves his money but it’s too much to win again, same
For all the core players. If they really wanted winning more than money they all would have taken a lot less to win championships. See Tom Brady. I’m not saying I blame them I’d probably do the same too, but can you image if all the superstars saved off a couple million here and there. Which Stafford did, I haven’t seen AD do it. He is a Ram Goat no doubt, but if a championship satisfied him then it’s all about the money. It should be
About make as much as you can but
If you and your peers have a way to take
Some less to make the team a
Contender for several years that would or should be the path. But unfortunately it’s not.

AD earned it. Allen Robinson’s contract was a huge mistake. Floyd is overpaid too…

yes he did earn it but it is a team killer IMO. they have multiple contracts that are way too high. Floyd has to go. I don't think ARob is going to be traded because nobody will take his contract.

I am amazed with all the doubting and anger after 1 player is gone. Have a little faith. This staff just got us a Super Bowl.

Wagner was good, but we have other spots to fill. Hold your judgment until we get through free agency and the draft. McVay is not here to “rebuild”. I doubt he thinks that way. Tough decisions have to be made. I am surprised how many of you give up so quickly.

IMO he was the one guy they should have kept outside of Floyd, JR, Robinson, etc. Just very surprised and I do question the FO big time

Word is Wags wanted to move on…

Schefter further reported that Wagner “wants to win” — an issue he may not have seen coming any time soon with a Rams team retooling after a disappointing 5-12 season that was the worst ever for a defending Super Bowl winner — while the Rams wanted to move on from Wagner to create needed cap space

Let’s look at like this. Von Miller screwed our off season last year. When dust settled nobody was available thanks to Von. And it’s Rams fault as well. But Wagner was biggest name in FA so they signed him to keep AD happy. In truth they never was going to sign Wagner anyway, until Von dragged on and on. They don’t value the ILB spot that much

I want to win, this team won't be able to, so I am outta here.

Maybe Wagner knows this roster sucks and can't be fixed in one off season. By releasing Wagner we create one more problem. Run defense which was the only thing that worked well last year, actually.

It seems Wagner just doesn't trust we can be good enough to win this year.

I agree. They lost Wagner. Will probably trade Ramsey, and 3 months ago many on here were wishing him gone anyways. I'm hoping that this gives the team reason to see what they have in Daniel Hardy. The guy was a total QB wrecking force in college, I'd love for him to get some sort of opportunity to see if he's got game for the NFL.
