Trade Rumors: Rams might be looking to move on from Allen Robinson

Post by UplandRam »

Given the size of his contract, I can’t see this happening unless the Rams agree to take on some of his salary.
I would absolutely be in favor of moving on.

We can't trade players after a down year his stats will warrant us getting nothing for him.

Lol the rams are such chicken shits. You're gonna trade everyone and leave after a down year? Gtfoh. If they do trade him, like I said, it better be a valuable pick.

I say keep him for another year. He never got a chance to develop some chemistry with Staff. Robinson brings something to the table that Coop and Van don't and that is size and catch radius.
Really hope that the Rams are not overreacting here.....

I believe the Rams are retooling to make a run in 2024. The rams are moving on from players that are not in their 2024 plans. This year is about the draft, reshaping the roster, and developing young players. 2024 offseason will be about obtaining talent for 2024 run.

ARob requested to be traded so we will see what happens. This team is coming apart at the seams.

It depends.

If the rams can rebuild the OL, and Stafford, Kupp and AD stays healthy. Rams can compete for the playoffs. Similar to the 2019/2020 season when the rams retooled.

I had hopes for him coming in ..but things never meshed. This even though according to a report I saw, he was the most open WR in 2022. If you can't get the "most open" WR the ball even 40 times, something is out of sync and
it's best for both parties to move on

We probably have to eat some, but with a relatively poor WR FA class, I can see GB and maybe KC taking him on. GB just flat needs WR and KC may figure "it's PH throwing him the ball for F's sake"

After last season, it almost had to didn't it?

The "we not me" took a hit last season, and the shine of McV has tarnished some. Eventually, most coaches get tuned out .. maybe that's been happening with McV recently

^ This

Especially after our dead cap hit this year if we keep selling the farm. All signs point to '24 imo. And I mean ALL signs.

I don't see this as overreacting. It just didn't work out and is in the best interest of both sides to move on. Rams will have to eat some of his salary to get any kind of value in a trade, and it likely won't be much of a pick anyway. But it allows younger players to step up and see what they can do. McCutcheon has a similar build, but is a fraction of the price of Robinson. Atwell needs to get on the field, and the Rams will likely add a WR or two in the draft with Jefferson a free agent after this year.

that is just what the rams need to do in the draft is take 2 more WR's. this team has to solidify the line of scrimmage on both sides to be competitive next year. The lack of success by ARob is on McVay and Stafford. There were countless times he was wide open and MS didn't throw it to him. McCutheon is no where near ready. Have little faith in the FO anymore

That "something" was Stafford not throwing his way IMO...when Mayfield took over we started to see what ARob was about and I liked it....a younger and better version of OBJ at this point.
Losing ARob is not a wise move IMO

100% agree. He is a much better option than McCutcheon.

Didn’t Robinson’s season end a couple of weeks before Mayfield was even signed?

Have you seen this injury graphic?

McCatch will be our #2 receiver by the end of this season. Im totally sold this kid is going to be special. IMO if we are retooling/rebuilding this season (which I think we are)... we do not need to sign OBJ, let's give McCatch and our younger guys a real season to prepare for 2024. IMO

He was a preseason beast. Unfortunately when he played in the real games he was a ghost. Part of that was the lineup he was playing with although Mayfield improved that. McCutcheon has real struggles getting off the line of scrimmage. Corners much smaller than him were jamming him and he had no response. He finished the season on IR. Lance needs to hit the weight room in the offseason if he wants to play in the NFL.

What has gone wrong with Robinson. I was pretty excited when we picked him up. He’s a jump ball type receiver but i’m not sure why McVay couldn’t figure out how to use him. Must be something we don’t know.
