The Tampa Bay Buccaneers could be turning to Baker Mayfield as one of their post-Tom Brady options, according to a Sunday morning report.
NFL Network's Ian Rapoport and Mike Garafolo reported that the Buccaneers are expected to target Mayfield when the free agent signing period begins as one of their top options for a new starting quarterback. Rapoport says Mayfield could be competition for 2022 second-round pick Kyle Trask.
The Buccaneers have an opening at quarterback following the retirement of Brady this offseason, and they are not in a position to land one of the top quarterback prospects in the first round of the 2023 NFL Draft.

So… w Stafford most likely hurt… and Perkins and Wolfie as Back ups… is this the year we draft our future guy?
Boat load of good QB’s this draft… but, I’m sure they’ll all be gone by the time it’s our turn… so get ready for tutu 2.0.
Ugh

I like the kid out of Tennessee, Hooker. Due to his ACL injury we would get him later in the draft.

I’m high on the Kentucky kid… Will Levis… but he’ll go in top 10.

I like him too. His injury, and his age will drop him. Some say he may last till rd 5, but with no 4th rounder , I'd be happy if he was one of our 3rd round picks.

With Rodgers going to the Jets, where is Mike White going?

Re: Buccaneers eyeing former No. 1 draft pick as potential starting QB
Would be great to have Mayfield back, but we can't pay him high-end backup money, let alone low-end starter money. There are other backup options not named Mayfield, Wolford, or Perkins. Maybe this is the year they draft a QB to develop, while signing someone like Heinike, Wentz, or Bridgewater to be the #2 this year.
