No way. Coming off a serious injury for a lineman, and he wasn't that good for Burrow before that.

Nope. I will not. Especially not for an injured player. Build this team through the draft and actually play them. They can't do anything sitting on this bench all the time.

We need to STOP signing aging vets who have injury histories and want way too much. Time to develop our own youngsters… on the cheap.

Rams should have made it work to sign Orlando Brown. He's not an elite LT, but certainly better than anything we have. The Bengals getting him for $16.5 million a year is ridiculous. Not sure I would trade for Williams. We would have to clear cap space to fit him in, and he's a free agent after this year. Then there's the fact that we have like 27 offensive lineman under contract and the Rams love all of them, for some reason.

Pretty clear with the report that the roster is half full and Rams have only $11mil in cap

There isn't a way in H*ll the Rams could have made anything work. Just flat out no $$ in cap. At this moment in time, it looks as though we will be vet min and UDFA and most likely camp invitees come training camp timewildram01 wrote: ↑March 17th, 2023, 7:14 pm Rams should have made it work to sign Orlando Brown. Re: So, would you trade some picks ...
They could have restructured Kupp or Donald and gotten the space to add Brown, especially if they kept Brown's cap number low for 2023. It also would have meant they could have cut Noteboom instead of using his contract to restructure and create space. Now instead of having a near-Pro Bowl level LT for four years, we are tied to a far below average LT who cannot stay healthy for at least the next two. Maybe the Rams thought they had no chance at Brown so they didn't bother looking into it, or maybe they did and he just wanted to sign elsewhere. I just think it was a blown opportunity to sign a cornerstone piece for below market value. Yes, it would have made Kupp or AD have a higher cap number next year, but if we are still looking for a LT we will be paying more in free agency than we would have for Brown.GoldenRam wrote: ↑March 17th, 2023, 9:53 pmThere isn't a way in H*ll the Rams could have made anything work. Brown would have cost the rams at least 1.5 million more a year then the Bengals paid. California state income tax is much more then Ohio.
Also Brown more likely rather pay for a SB contender unless he is grossly overpaid.

Re: So, would you trade some picks ...
I hate to say this and can't believe I am, but... everybody is on the table in terms of acquiring more draft capital. We have so many holes right now. Id field offers for both Stafford and Donald. As much as I love both and appreciate them for bringing us a ring, they're not off limits either. Neither is Cooper Kupp. Get a young QB, and draft some weapons and offensive line help that can develop together and we're good. Right now, the focus should be adding talent for 2023-2024 with a possible playoff spot for 2025 not saying they won't make the playoffs because I don't know. Look at what happened with Miami and Jacksonville last year. They made the playoffs.

AD, Staff have already restructured. Kupp's only went into place last season, so they could have asked, sure. He also gave us a haircut on his deal. They could have Noteboom no matter what.wildram01 wrote: ↑March 18th, 2023, 4:47 pmThey could have restructured Kupp or Donald and gotten the space to add Brown, especially if they kept Brown's cap number low for 2023. It's obvious they are clearing for 2024, so they weren't and aren't looking to add to the cap figure next year.
So yes they could have and no, they were never going to

Re: So, would you trade some picks ...
Never said they were going to, just that they should have explored that option. We are still going to owe Stafford $57 million in 2024 even as he gets crushed this entire season, but at least we will be able to dream of cap space that we can spend on a LT one year too late. Or maybe Joe Noteboom will ride to the rescue, but I'm not holding my breath on that one.GoldenRam wrote: ↑March 18th, 2023, 10:11 pmAD, Staff have already restructured.
