Just wondering on how JJ becomes a bench warmer just a couple of years from being a real solid starter?
Did we switch defense concepts that much as he is only 27?
Any updates on Jacksons injury time frame?
A question for you guys/gals

Re: A question for you guys/gals
good question about JJ ....but I have a few of my own .
Why only 2 snaps for Hopkins ?
The blatant disregard for TE in this offense is mind boggling to me. 4th year with the team and he can only get 2 snaps?
No support for the o-line, Kyren's best ability is pass pro, and he's out in the flat getting balls thrown over his head by a QB that was in panic mode the entire game .
Higbee is running intermediate routes, no inline TE helping the o-line, nobody chipping the DE who is eating the LT's lunch , literally beating him in every snap
I dont know how this is possible in today's NFL that a game plan / roster can be designed so poorly , not to mention the complete disregard for the run game .
I am really losing faith in mcvay because this is NOT the first time that his happens , it actually happened a LOT since he got here

Re: A question for you guys/gals
Especially odd considering McVay is a big TE proponent and former TE coach! Why aren't we using the 13 package like NE did..or 12 package he ran in Washington? Seems odd especially if the goal is to have Stafford survive 17 games.brasilrams wrote: ↑September 26th, 2023, 12:43 pm good question about JJ ....but I have a few of my own .

As far as I can tell, Hopkins can't block. That penalty on Lake was a killer and completely unneccsary.

Totally agree on JJ. Not like he's 36 years old.

Re: A question for you guys/gals
kind of crazy when you see Higbee beyond productive too. Bet if you went back to was the film Higbee was open on multiple plays and Stafford not even looking at him. When Kupp was in Stafford had a tendency to only look at him.brasilrams wrote: ↑September 26th, 2023, 12:43 pm good question about JJ ....but I have a few of my own .

Re: A question for you guys/gals
I have always wondered what this team would look like with a topflight TE. Unfortunately, I think we end up using the TE as a 6th OL because the rest of the line is so bad. Love to see Allen get some targets. Wouldn't mind seeing them take a feeler on OJ Howard, but they would have to use him as a legitimate target.

keep losing and we could be staring at Brock Bowers in the 1st round next year. Talk about a game changer.29TheBest wrote: ↑September 26th, 2023, 6:06 pm I have always wondered what this team would look like with a topflight TE. Re: A question for you guys/gals
He showed signs of the ability starting in the SB win. We don't win that game without his block on that run by Kupp. Aside from that we don't know all that much because he's seldom in the game. Get his ass in there, if nothing else he can get in someone's way for a couple of ticks. If he doesn't have it, waive him and move on to the next bum, because apparently that's what McV thinks of TE's.
I'm half convinced it's all about showing how smart he is, but he's proving the exact opposite. He seems like a younger Mike Martz, "I'll do it MY way Damn it I don't care if I kill my QB, there's always another I can make look good"
Generally what happens to most people who think they are going to outsmart everyone, is that only one person gets outsmarted, and it's usually the guy who thinks he's doing the outsmarting.
Got 53 Sean, and you are allowed to use ALL of them. Mixing up formations and personnel actually may confuse D's, so you might just try it once in a while
