Perfection with any team FYI not possible…….

D got tired last quarter. Was obvious. They played Monday night, traveled home, traveled back on a short week, and then chased a running QB for 4 quarters……..
Sorry bro but that sounds like an excuse to me... later in the season I might grant that fatigue played into it but not from the 3rd youngest team in the league in week 4.
They were not in the same scheme once it became 23-0. The Colts went to shotgun/no huddle and we had few answers.... until we got a stop after the game was tied and they were no longer in hurry up..
6 teams held their opponent under 10 points this week, 3 of those were just a FG... They didn't get tired or imo go prevent....
I knew you were going to say that in regards to the excuse comment. I stand by what I said because I think it was accurate. That was a tired defense that last quarter…….

Again my reply to you was mostly how I felt in the reply I was responding to you in regards to you came across IMO like you were expecting perfection the entire game. Yes I certainly did not expect them to blow a 23 point lead but that wasn’t all on the D. 2 missed FG’s and a INT played a role in Indy’s comeback. And it appears you kind of understood what a few said after that reply you made. All good……..

Not really expecting perfection as much as not liking them going into prevent, taking their foot off the gas, if you will...
Agree with everything else except Staff's pick.. the Colts turned the ensuing possession over on downs, so the INT didn't really play into their comeback..

Remember Morris can only play the cards he is dealt. With that in mind I think he is doing an admirable job.

16th ranked defense and people here say that's good? That's mediocre.

It is mediocre for sure , but context matters. Considering the TALENT we have ( next to none ) and considering they were supposed to be around 28th , it is not that bad .

The offense though ...considering it would be GOOD and they rank 16th and they can't play in the second half , it is pretty pathetic . It is the third week in a ROW the offense gets SHUT OUT on the second half . They are actually performing WORST than this defense .

It's because McVay doesn't know how to call a consistent game anymore. Pass pass pass. In the second quarter.

Mcvay been pass pass pass his entire career as Head Coach. It's nothing new and hasn't stopped him from being successful.

Before the season people said the rams would have a bottom 3 defense. Some thought worse in the NFL.

So after playing the two best teams in the NFC, and going into the season with AD and a bunch of JAGS. Being in the middle, which is above nearly everyone projection going into the season, yes it find it pretty good.

I remember his first 3 years , him abandoning the run was much more RARE . specially when he had TG . Now it seems he abandons the run every other week ? And it is funny because everytime he does it , he loses . It is not like " oh he does it but he still wins it " . NOPE . check the stats and you will see that 95 % of mcvays WINS are when he calls a balanced game . And 95 % of the times he loses is that when he goes pass happy . So it just doesn't WORK . My question is , why he still insists on something that DOESN'T WORK ? The definition of crazy is doing the same thing over and over and over again and expect different results .

Check out mcvays losses and you will see basically all of them he didn't run the ball and went pass happy . It is clear that this strategy doesn't work , so again , why insist ? He is insisting on doing something that doesn't work since he got here . It gets really tiresome , at least for me .

I'm not downing them for what they're doing so I don't want people to misconstrue what I'm saying so they can start some unnecessary drama. But when I think good, I think top 10. If people on here can read, lol, they'd see I shout out the defense in nearly every game.

last time I checked, 16th out of 32 is half... So average, correct?...

Like I have been saying, Morris is average AT BEST.

That's one way to look at it? :)

I look at it as Morris getting average performance from a group of players that many felt, before the season, had the talent level of a bottom 3 defense. This is after playing the two best teams in the NFC.

Jeez DelMar! How many times they have to tell us! He's doing magnificent without having any names! He's absolutely doing great without a pass rush! He's the greatest DC of all time in their eyes. Sarcasm by the way. We must suck if we cheer on mediocrity.

Held Cards to a season low 9 points.

Lower then what the Niners, Cowboys and Bengals held them too despite not having the same talent on defense as those teams

That doesn't make sense.

If a DC has the best players in all of football at every defensive position yet the the team is ranked 16th in defensive, would you consider the coach average?

Same logic has to apply when Morris takes players that are below average and make them an average defensive.

Talent matters in this conversation

I have ripped Morris in the past and wanted him to get a HC job in off season so he would move on.... he has done a very good to great job this year with what he has talent wise... AD makes more per year than all other 10 starters combined

Morris got no money, AD, rookies and young picks and a bunch of JAGS and the Rams D is looking good so far. This includes playing two of the best NFC teams.

I have to agree . The comebacks the D allowed before halftime only happened because of DK's stupid penalties . Morris is doing REALLY freaking good this year . He changed his approach big time . Shows the guy is not stubborn and is willing to adapt . That is what great coaches do .
