Noteboom:
Trading Noteboom carries moderate cap savings in either 2023 or 2024, but does save L.A. $10 million in cash next season. He has a non-guaranteed $10 million base salary but the Rams will still owe him the prorated amount of his signing bonus, which was always way too much money to begin with.
Now Noteboom has lost both the left tackle job and potentially the right guard job with Kevin Dotson stepping up lately, so his training camp mystery injury may turn out to be a trade to any of the many teams that are thin on the offensive line.
CB Cobie Durant or CB Derion Kendrick?
I wrote about Kendrick in the previous article but the situation has been exacerbated by the fact that Kendrick has become the “main character” at the end of the first half against the 49ers and the Eagles. Both times, Kendrick had two penalties and both times the other team scored a touchdown on the final play of the half. You can excuse a DPI against an elite player, you can’t make sense of a horse collar or a face mask. That’s 14 points to Derion Kendrick.

To me - Brycen Hopkins should go before Freeman (I haven't seen anything on field from RF that tells me he should go...maybe I missed it)....Give his snaps to Allen and/or wait for Hunter Long to come off IR...
As for Noteboom - would be a little nervous letting him go without some insurance behind him....but that's just me...

who knows with this coaching staff. How quickly they go sour on a player is crazy.

Re: Who will Rams run out of patience for next after trading Van Jefferson?
Noteboom is just too valuable as a swing backup even though his contract is starters money. He looked like the next coming compared to Thomas against the Bengals. Boom isnt great... but they can do a lot worse and after last season, I would be skittish about letting any capable OL go.
Kendrick... I still think he's going to be a good corner. I think he's a lot better than he was last season and even then I thought he was going to be a good corner. He's frustrating for sure... But he's learning. It's the hardest position to play outsiode of QB IMO.
Ditto Durant, though I think Kendrick has a higher ceiling.
So my pick here is going to be MICHAEL HOECHT. Another guy I was high on.. But my own patience is wearing thin. As a DL he is having trouble setting the edge. In coverage forget it... And he isnt even getting pressures and sacks as he was last season as a rush LB. So I think the rest of the league easily figured him out and he's now a target.

Completely agree on Hoecht. Teams are now actually scheming to get him in coverage or running his direction. Not even practice squad material.CierraRam wrote: ↑October 10th, 2023, 6:20 pm Noteboom is just too valuable as a swing backup even though his contract is starters money. Re: Who will Rams run out of patience for next after trading Van Jefferson?
Hoecht I think would be pretty good on 3rd down as the drop DL in a zone blitz sheme... But the Rams don't run zone blitz ... so he's useless in the Morris scheme. John Johnson should be covering TE's with the current scheme and personel that they have. It would still be a mismatch for opponents to exploit in terms of tackling. But in coverage he'd be tons better than Hoecht ever was. I think last season the use of Hoecht simply confused opponents.. caught them off guard.. Not this season.GlendoraRam wrote: ↑October 10th, 2023, 6:23 pmCompletely agree on Hoecht. Teams are now actually scheming to get him in coverage or running his direction. I feel it is thinning the herd instead of having disgruntled non participating players the Rams move on from them Cam/VJ which paves the way for clarity at RB and WR.
No on Notebook too valuable. No on Hoe ht most know I am not a fan but I'm not a fan of OLB Hoecht but am a fan for a DL rotation Hoecht.
Not sure I see anybody possibly Maher if he misses some more but 5hats about it imo.

No way. Hopkins is (is going to be) a stud. If the Rams would use a TE the way KC or Baltimore does, he'd be special IMO

Hoecht needs to move back to the interior D Line. Especially with Brown out. He is not playing in a spot where he can compete. He is 300+ pounds. Play him inside or dont play him at all.GlendoraRam wrote: ↑October 10th, 2023, 6:23 pmCompletely agree on Hoecht. Teams are now actually scheming to get him in coverage or running his direction.
