Cardinals @ Rams Game Thread
The Arizona Cardinals are looking for their first road win and attempting to avoid a third straight defeat. The Cardinals' first two defeats were only by four and three points respectively. The only win occurred in week three in a 28-16 home win against the Cowboys. They have since lost by a 35-16 score against the 49ers and were three-point dogs in a 34-20 home loss to the Bengals. The Cardinals have covered the spread in one of their last three decisions.
Joshua Dobbs was outstanding in the opening four games of the year but had a bad game against the Bengals, completing just 47% of his passes for 166 yards and two picks. The 28-year-old QB has reached 250 passing yards just once this season and has collected 980 passing yards and a 6:2 TD to INT ratio on the season.
James Connor exited the game last week due to a knee injury and has been placed on the IR. The 28-year-old RB is having an outstanding season, recording 365 rushing yards on 5.4 yards per rush. The running game will now be relying on rookie Emari Demercado who has just 48 rushing yards. They also have RB Keontay Ingram who remains questionable.
Marquise Brown continues to be targeted heavily. The 26-year-old WR brought in 96 receiving yards in the loss against the 49ers earlier this month and has posted 300 receiving yards on the year. The Arizona offense has been decent. They rank sixth in rushing yards and have reached 28 points on two occasions.
The Cardinals' defense has been exploited recently, squandering 35 and 34 points respectively in their previous two decisions. The group squandered 380 total yards against the Bengals. The unit had no answer for the pass last week and has plummeted to 26th in pass defense while the rush defense is at 22nd. They have collected 15 sacks.
Arizona is averaging 21.6 points on the season, marking them 19th. The defense is conceding an average of 27.2 points, placing them 27th.
For the Rams, The most intriguing matchup appears to be Matthew Stafford and receivers Cooper Kupp and Puka Nacua against an undermanned Arizona defense going through serious growing pains under 30-year-old rookie coordinator Nick Rallis. The Cardinals have allowed the most passing yards of any NFC team, and the Bengals' Ja’Marr Chase tore them up with 15 catches for 192 yards and three touchdowns last week.
But Stafford sees the seeds of progress in the Arizona defense's struggles so far.
“They play with a reckless abandon," Stafford said. “They are flying around off the tape, you see it. ... It’s a little bit of a unique style of a defense when you look at it. I’m not sure there’s many other teams in the league that are running what they’re running in some form or fashion. But what sticks out to me is the effort that they play with, the physicality that they play with.”

Re: Cardinals @ Rams Game Thread
Smh. This team is so damn inconsistent. Only thing they know how to do is let the other team score. Someone tell McVay to grow some nuts and actually run the ball instead of pass pass pass.

Re: Cardinals @ Rams Game Thread
McVay just keeps costing us. And he never learns. And it's the same stupid shit every week. "I got to do better". Only to do the exact opposite. At this point, stfu.

Re: Cardinals @ Rams Game Thread
Maybe that’s the way we tank..
and by the way I hate that idea of tanking.
Throw the ball on every down so it doesn’t look like we are tanking.
No coach can be this freakin dense
