Steelers @ Rams... Who you got and why?

Post by DelMar »

Steelers @ Rams

Sunday 10/22
Time: 1:05 (PST)
Location: Acrisure Stadiu..... I mean Sofi. (sorry for the typo  )
Network: FOX
Moneyline: LAR: (-162) | PIT: (+136)
Spread: LAR: -3 (-106) | PIT: +3 (-114)
Total: 43.5 -- Over: (-115) | Under: (-105)

• Los Angeles has beaten the spread three times in six games.
• The Rams are unbeaten ATS (1-0) as a 3-point favorite or greater this year.
• Two of the Rams' six games have gone over the point total.
• The Steelers have beaten the spread three times in five games.
• Pittsburgh is unbeaten ATS (2-0) as a 3-point underdog or more this season.
• One Steelers game (out of five) has hit the over this year

This is the 1st meeting between the Rams and Steelers since 2019 and only the 6th since 2000. The Steelers have won the last 4 meetings, outscoring the Rams 107-42 in those 4 wins.

The Steelers covered the spread in all 4 of those games, twice as underdogs and twice as favorites of 9 points and 12 points, according to Covers. In the 2019 meeting, Pittsburgh won at home 17-12 as 4-points underdogs.

The Rams are 15-10-2 all-time against the Steelers.

So, who you got and why?

I believe we handle business and play a good game. What is funny is how 'the usual' McVay reversed the game against the cards... usually we blow it in the second half... Not the Cards game, we went the opposite direction and blew it in the first and came out to play in the second... NOW, if Sean can just get it together and make all 4 QUARTERS work... we will pick up the W... I got...

Rams 28 Steelers 17

eventually , ONE day , our offense has to play well for 60 minutes . Last time they did was week 1 , outside of that they are good for 30 minutes only . Cmon now . Put it together and we WIN . Steelers defense is nasty thought . Won't be easy . BUT Their offense has a lot of issues and I like our D chances against them .

Latest "swing" game of the Season. 2 games before the Trade Deadline, this game could dictate if we're buyers or sellers. Win, and we're guaranteed. 500 or better and we could be modest buyers. Lose, and then possibly lose again at Dallas and we might definitely sell.

The Steelers offense is terrible. How they're 3-2 I have no idea, but they do this every year. We have no business losing to them.

We have a terrible record against the Steelers, we've only beaten them once in 2003 since 1987.

When they're good they blow us out. When we're good they always play well and steal one from us.

I don't know what it is but I just can't get over that.

Steelers 20 Rams 17.

GOD I WANT TO BE WRONG ON THIS!!!!

We got this if they can take TJ Watt out the game. Run the ball down their throats and we got this.

Steelers D Ranks

25th vs the pass @ 245.6 YG
29th vs the run @ 143.8 YG
20th in PPG allowed @ 22.0
30th overall @ 389.4 YG

Their D are ballhawks and creating TO's is the biggest reason why their PPG is not ranked as bad as the rest and probably why they are 3-2. So the Rams playmakers need to play clean...

Steelers O Ranks

27th in passing @ 187.8 YG
28th in rushing @ 80.4 YG
30th in PPG @ 15.8
30th overall @ 268.2 YG

To be fair, their running game has suffered w/o RB1 N Harris being out but he's back now and they should be better at it now.

Bottom line for me, if the same Ram team shows up that has all year, and we hang on to the ball, we should be able to win by 2 scores again.

That's my fear with this game. On paper, the Rams should win going away. The Steelers mystique with the Rams somehow keep it close.

Everyone speaks about how the Rams can’t put together a 60 minute game. We know why, correct? It’s McVay and his play calling. If after last week, he has finally learned, then the Rams win this game by 10 points or more. If McVay goes back to his all passing ways then we are in trouble and so is Stafford.

Yep I agree with all that.

The loss of Williams at RB seemed brutal, until you play a weak run D like the Steelers have been rolling out.

Scary run defensive fronts like the Eagles & whiners certainly shouldn’t be an issue this week…

Rams should win this game. Pitts won some of those games only because of turnovers.

Statistically the Rams are better a across the board the offense is ita 3rd week with Kupp. If we run the ball and keep them guessing we win.

Mike Tomlin is 6-0 in his last 6 games after the regular season bye. He hasn’t lost a game since 2015 after a reg season bye.

I’ll stick with that trend.

The Steelers have never won against the Rams in LA during the regular season. They are 0-10.

I am sticking with Rams.

Yes, I tend to agree based on the history.

During the Super Bowl era, our team played well against the Steelers during the late 1960s and '70s, however starting with Super Bowl XIV at the beginning of '80, the Steelers have dominated the series between the two teams.

The last Rams QB to start in a victory over the 'Black & Gold' was Marc Bulger in that 2003 contest. (Roman Gabriel was 2-0 vs. the Steelers, Kurt Warner never faced them while starting for the Good Guys.)

STEELERS 27, RAMS 23, just another of those games, I'm afraid... :( :x

RAM SEASON!!
