Raiders Fire Josh McDaniels

Post by Henry VIII »

He shouldn't have ever been hired in the first place. Raiders suck and so does their ex head coach! Also GM Dave Ziegler was let go..

Wow. I thought that they’d finish out the year, but this mid year tumult has been kind of a pattern with the Raiders.

this is by far the worst run franchise in the NFL and that says a lot. Year in and year out this organization has been awful. It starts at the top. this franchise is too important to the NFL so maybe good old Roger comes in and forces Davis to sell.

Is Jim Harbaugh there in off season or before?

Definitely about to pull a Pete Carroll.

Not much has worked out for the Raiders since the Commie trash loving Roger Goodell led Jon Gruden political expulsion..... looks F.n good on them.. F em, I hope no one worth their salt will coach there and they become league doormats for a while and league fan participation continues to recede till Goodell is gone... Stick to football and leave personal lives out of it..

Jon Gruden/Mike Mayock single handled put this franchise back minimum 10 yrs maybe more.

Gruden could go down as one of the most overrated coaches of all time

Can't believe that Mcdaniel s gets another job at any level in the league. The guy has just failed too many times.

It’s not the X’s and O’s that got him fired. Like most coaches, it’s in-game decisions that kept blowing my mind. Same with Staley.

Agreed to me not a smart move seems like a desperate or rash move. Jimmy G was hurt part of the time, the Jacobs situation not being straightened out didn't help, Chandler Jones problem etc. Maybe I fire the GM Ziegler (like they did) but keep McDaniels. He traded Darren Waller which to me was a huge mistake because he is the perfect type of target for Jimmy G. Also so far their 1st pick in the draft hasn't panned out as an OLB. To me this is the GMs fault. Clearly I don't know the full situation but new blood is not turning this around the team is what it is.

Totally agree. 3 1st round picks and absolutely the worst of worst picks. Ferrell was the 3rd pick in the draft. Ruggs was terrible. The Crosby pick is the only really solid pick in the draft for the most part.

go back and look at his drafts and 99% are not only not on the team anymore but not in the NFL anymore. just awful. Mayock was known as the draft guru for years on NFL Network

Anyway you slice it McDaniels was trash and the GM is right there with him..if the NFL can force Washington to sell their team for whatever office crap and who knows what else was going on..they should force Davis to sell the Raiders..because of how poorly he's run this franchise since his Dad passed..its almost comical. Gorgeous new stadium and a very strong fan base and a shithole for an owner is an embarrassment for the NFL.

Of course, the world workers' revolution, followed by an establishment of the 'dictatorship of the proletariat' with a classless society in the NFL, that was clearly disruptive to the effective administration of the Raiders franchise.

That situation has to be included in any long-term evaluation of the recent leadership of the 'Silver & Black,' I would venture... :) 8-)

Yes, I can still vividly recall his brief stint as offensive coordinator for the Rams back during the 2011 season, when he and head coach Steve Spagnuolo managed to turn a 7-9 team into a 2-14 one.

Our team took a half-dozen years to recover from that fiasco, while Sam Bradford's NFL career never did... ;) :?

Disagree bro... they just want to keep out masculine men... The Pussification of American sports rolls on... oh he scratched his toe nail polish... DL for him... In Grudens case he said some things not pertaining to football that hurt somebody's feelings so he should be cancelled in favor of someone who doesn't give a damn about football!!!... for the record don't really care for Gruden, but I won't condone the BS way they me too'd him...

me neither he got screwed but his drafts were the worst in NFL history with Mayock and his coaching with the Raiders was dreadful.

Agreed 100%!

The 'Silver-&-Black' should be one of the NFL's 'flagship franchises,' especially with its proud roots back in the old American Football League of the 1960s.

Jon Gruden managed to combine being a mediocre-at-best (yet very fortunate at times) head coach with being a bigoted, despicable person, while Mike Mayock has demonstrated that it's much easier to be a supposed 'draft expert' for a television studio show than for a pro football front office.

Not that I have a high opinion of Josh McDaniels either, nor Marc Davis, the Raiders have seemed to underperform even for their limited talent level... :( :?

Yeah I'll grant you the draft failures... there's no arguing that..
