As things stand right now, Rams are in the 6th position for next years draft. I feel it is essential for the Rams to draft a potential franchise QB.
Looking at the remaining schedule, I see only maybe two wins, the Cardinals and Giants.
Question is, do we sit Stafford and set us up for a top 5 pick? I think we should. I also think there is a very good possibility either AD or Stafford retires after 2023. Together with cutting ties with Noteboom, that would significantly increase our cap space.
For me, there are only two QB’s worth a top five pick. Williams and Maye.
So, do we sit Stafford?

Re: Rams Draft Position for 2024
so let's get into this. the bears I think are done with Fields. Rams offer up a 4th for Fields and have him watch for a year under McVay and Stafford next year. They focus on other positions on the roster which they desperately need to fill. I agree unless you are in the top 3 you won't have a chance with the guys you mentioned above and I am not drafting Bo Nix with the 8th pick in the draft. Re: Rams Draft Position for 2024
I was thinking about Fields too. I’m with you, a forth rounder seems about right. The only way we get Williams or Maye is to trade up in a big way. I am not in favor or trading our 2025 1st to move up 4-5 spots.ocram23 wrote: ↑November 6th, 2023, 8:28 amso let's get into this. the bears I think are done with Fields. Mac Jones is another possibility, although that wouldn’t be a great fit.

I think Nix is a quality pick. Penix too. After those 4 I think it drops a bit.

just do not feel comfortable using that high of a pick on both of those guys. I would rather trade for Fields

Re: Rams Draft Position for 2024
I have to disagree '71... this QB class is about 10 deep w Potential NFL starters...
1. QB CALEB WILLIAMS, USC
Williams has been one of college football's top playmakers for three years. He is always a threat to advance the football with his arms and legs. The NFL covets quarterbacks who can create on their own. No one does that better than Caleb Williams.
2. QB DRAKE MAYE, NORTH CAROLINA
Maye possesses ideal NFL arm talent. He can hit just about any throw asked of him at the pro level with velocity and ball placement. He still puts the ball in harm's way with more turnovers than you'd like, but the magnitude of the good he can do as a passer far outweighs the bad.
3. QB BO NIX, OREGON
The underwhelming Bo Nix we knew from Auburn seems long gone. Nowadays, Nix is seen as a good dual-threat athlete with a legit NFL arm. Most importantly, he's playing much better under pressure, even if he isn't pressured as often.
4. QB MICHAEL PENIX JR., WASHINGTON
Penix is a bit of a college football journeyman but is lighting up the scoreboard in 2023. His combination of experience and high-end arm talent is propelling him. He has a bit of an unorthodox throwing style — from his lower body mechanics to his throwing motion — but can sling it.
5. QB RILEY LEONARD, DUKE
Leonard is a very intriguing quarterback prospect because of his two best attributes — his athleticism and toughness as a runner, and his natural touch on passes all over the field. His passing profile isn't as consistent as some of the top guys in the class, but his five best throws can go toe-to-toe with almost anyone.
6. QB J.J. MCCARTHY, MICHIGAN
McCarthy has the arm to succeed at the NFL level. He can hit the “Sunday throws” with both distance and velocity and is improving his touch in 2023. He has a slender build but will be a passer the league covets.
7. QB SHEDEUR SANDERS, COLORADO
Sanders made the move from Jackson State to Colorado and only looks better for it. He's one of the best passers in college football when it comes to accuracy, anticipation and playing under pressure. His arm strength isn't top-tier, but it seems strong enough for him to start in the pros.
8. QB MICHAEL PRATT, TULANE
Pratt is more of the traditional pocket passer, but he has starting tools for offenses that don't ask the quarterback to run much. Before his injury (knee) this season, he looked like a future top-50 pick. But after the injury, his ball placement and touch have declined. The back half of this season will be big for him.
9. QB JAYDEN DANIELS, LSU
Daniels is a good dual-threat quarterback who has a ton of yards from scrimmage. Last year, he focused on taking care of the ball and had one of the lowest turnover-worthy play rates in the nation. This year, he's focused on playing better under pressure while pushing the ball downfield more often — and he's done both at career-high levels. His growth in all areas is encouraging and shows that he could be a QB to invest in.
10. QB QUINN EWERS, TEXAS
Ewers will be a hot name in this quarterback class due to his arm talent, as he has the tools to make all sorts of NFL throws. He has an unorthodox but quick release where the ball can fire off his wrist to the target. However, his deep ball accuracy and general ball placement skills need more consistency if he is to be a reliable NFL starter.

Highly doubt sanders is coming out. not a fan of daniels either. McCarthy is interesting. maybe 2nd or 3rd round pickupDelMar wrote: ↑November 6th, 2023, 9:22 amI have to disagree '71... this QB class is about 10 deep w Potential NFL starters...

Re: Rams Draft Position for 2024
Penix Jr, or Leanard - mid to late 1st (rams can trade down and get a 1st in 2025 or a 2nd and 3rd in 2024) would be something I'm cool with.
With that said Maye could drop to 6

I'm with you DelMar...I am no expert, but I meant that those top 4 may be worthy of a top 10 pick...after that....maybe go for OL/Edge/DL 1st rounder and wait for a QB in round 2 who is avail among those listed. Or just say, "these top 4 guys if available, or we are trading for a Fields, etc".

Re: Rams Draft Position for 2024
When watching Penix, he is very accurate but seems to have a very slow delivery. Could be his mental processing or mechanics. Not sold on him.
We could pick J.J. McCarthy in the 2nd… I would be cool with that.

Re: Rams Draft Position for 2024
I am on the Fields bandwagon right now. Trade them a 4th and get him in the offseason. Have him compete with Stafford and learn under McVay. Then we can focus on using our other picks on much needed spots.RAMFAN71 wrote: ↑November 6th, 2023, 9:48 am I'm with you DelMar...I am no expert, but I meant that those top 4 may be worthy of a top 10 pick...after that....maybe go for OL/Edge/DL 1st rounder and wait for a QB in round 2 who is avail among those listed. Warner is spot on. Carolina's OL is awful and his skill set players are way behind Houston too.
