Recession by 2nd QTR 2024

Post by DelMar »

Be ready.

Guys much smarter than me in finance and advise me w my stuff, told me last ngt they are all getting ready to short the market again. They said right now it’s worse than pre 2007 when we hit our last recession.

When I look at my every day life, it’s all adding up and it’s going to get very, very bad.

Right now, as a nation, we have more credit card DEBT than we have ever carried before in the history of this country.

More people are living check to check than ever before. Many people got comfortable in the Covid payout, and also not being able to go on vacations for a couple years… now everyone is splurging, but with money NO savings. Buying expensive cars., expensive homes outside their means… bottomline, this is going to get bad.

Make sure you have enough cash on hand. Stock market is going to get WILD in 2024…

The economy isn't moving at all..but is in a complete downturn! We drive by Uline no one is waiting their turn to get office supplies..the Main UPS terminal at the Ontario Airport has two lots full now of the special fit air shipping containers! I mean completely full and sitting idle. Right next to the UPS facility is another lot that has never ever looked like it does now..tractor trailer one after another one completely full sitting idle..it didn't look this bad during the full Covid-19 shut down days..we are in deep shit and Biden keeps spending and printing money.

If anyone needed more proof that our economy and GDP is shrinking! We've had a few on here telling us how great Biden is doing and how well things are going. As bad and as slow as we were as a country during covid it was nothing compared to how full these lots are!..not much is moving by rail..on road or by air! This is down right concerning! We are slowing down fast..look closely at these pictures..I know they're not great but we were driving..hundreds and hundreds of empty trailers and air cargo containers sitting idle. So I'm positive that Delmar’s friends are correct.

Im looking at mutual funds and bonds... small growth, maybe 2-3% but it's better than -3% like my stocks have been doing in the past two weeks. It will get worse OC.

Do you have a financial advisor? I think you said you're about in 50's, so Im sure you have a little nest egg or retirement, maybe talk to who's holding it for you, like Charles Schwab. Sit w them and ask them where to put it for the next year....

I do and I will be talking to them next week. They have already mentioned bonds to me a couple of months ago. 401K already down roughly 30% so yes changes need to be made

Treasury Department drop a financial bomb: The deficit for fiscal year 2023 was $1.7 trillion, growing 23 percent in a single year! as the Treasury used $879 billion just to service the federal debt. But "Bidenomics" means the worst is yet to come, and multi-trillion-dollar deficits are the new normal..Just wait..until all of those new 10 million illegal democratic voters are added to the Government Doles..this is 💯 unsustainable.

Personally I would not sell investments to move into cash, but building a cash bucket in addition to your 401k is a great idea (bonds or muntual funds also). Right now you can earn a guaranteed 4.75% in a high yeild savings account (I've been dumping money into mine this year to add to my cash bucket). A lot of financial advisors are in favor of the 3 bucket method so you don't pull from investments in down turns. I certainly think a mild recession is still a possibility, but remember it's been close to 2 years since we hit all time highs. Three years is the average in a bear market, so hoping we hit them again by late 2024 or 2025.

Had to post part of the story in your link here Henry... Could not agree w this more...

California exodus has now grown to whopping figures according to the latest data from the U.S. Census Bureau.

The Golden State’s population declined by approximately 340,000 between 2021 and 2022 as Californians continue to exit the state, according to recently released US Census Bureau migration data.

Between 2021 and 2022, a nearly whopping 818,000 residents moved out of California.

During that period of time, only 475,800 people moved to California; a massive difference in number figures.

High housing costs and long commutes are cited as the primary reasons for the exodus.

“The ability to work remotely and not need to live near a big city also factored into the exodus,” says Cal Coastal News.

“Of the Californians who left the state from 2021 to 2022: 102,442 moved to Texas, 74,157 now reside in Arizona and 50,701 left for Florida.”

Texas has remained the most common destination during the California exodus.

Lower taxes and lower housing costs have attracted more than one hundred thousand Californians to the state.

“We are losing younger folks, and I think we will see people continuing to migrate where housing costs are lower.

There are good jobs in California, but housing is incredibly expensive. It hurts young families, and it hurts immigrant families, says Manuel Pastor, a professor at USC.

A recent poll showed four in ten Californians are considering moving out of state, with the majority saying it’s too expensive to live there.

“The state’s culture and diversity have proved to be a very powerful magnet to keep a lot of people here, even despite the affordability challenges.

But as the cost of living continues to be a greater challenge, it’s logical to assume that the allure of moving to a more affordable location is going to continue to grow”, says Dan Schnur, a communications professor at USC and the University of California, Berkeley.

What the 'Great Trucking Recession' Is Warning Us About the Economy..
Read this article this is saying exactly what my pictures are saying about what's going on with our economy. Pictures don't lie but here is the story behind why there are hundreds of these trailers and tractors just sitting idle. Our regular R&L delivery driver told us today that his usual average daily delivery stops were around 18 to 22 now he is only averaging 6 to 8 stops. But the morons on here tell us that Bidenomics is great the economy and my dollars are going farther. Not even during covid did it look and feel this bad.

Where is that idiot Rams fan that came in here the other week and told us how far his dollar was going and didn't care about gas prices because he had an EV..and that Biden was doing a good job.

Expert details the impacts the 'Great Trucking Recession' will have on Americans..America's trucking industry is in a dire state, which is bad news for the American economy because it serves as an indicator of the mood of consumers and their pocketbooks heading into the holiday season, one expert warned.
Kucharski explained that freight volumes, specifically, are a critical indicator of the status of the industry, as well as the economy. But he said right now the industry is experiencing "volume volatility" meaning volumes and rates are down due to supply and demand.

You're young and got your health..what would you want with a job?..kinda a spin on the movie Raising Arizona..what a classic line! One of my favorite movies..

..

And I read that they had planned to bus them over to Brooklyn and house them in tents and they were pissed off and a lot of them refused and went back to their plush hotels that we are paying for.
